Lord God we pray that into our darkness Your Light will brightly shine forth. We ask that Your Light come into all the areas of darkness in our life. May Your Love fill all the empty, lonely places in our hearts, minds, and souls; fill all the emptiness in our past, present, and future. May we hear Your Voice leading us to where You want to lead us and may we faithfully follow Your lead. May: The Month of Mary May 13: Feast of Our Lady of Fatima By the word Ave, which is the name of Eve, Eva, Mary learned that God in his infinite power and majesty had preserved her from all sin and its resulting misery which the first woman had been subject to. The name Mary means “lady of light” which shows that God has filled her with wisdom and light, like a shining star, to light up heaven and earth. With the angel Gabriel’s announcement, the fullness of time had come. That sign of God's promise, a virgin with child, was now made known to us, and her name was Mary. Along with God's angel we exclaim, "Greetings", or "Rejoice". God invited Mary to rejoice in the coming of the Messiah. How could she help but rejoice, realizing that she was the woman promised in the book of Genesis to bring the Prince of Peace into the world? The most important question we can ask ourselves in connection with anything that we come in contact with is, "What is the source of this?" Each and everything that we allow to enter into our life, has a reality, which is in each and every situation. Of course there are choices; it is God who gave us our free will to choose Him or not to choose Him. God loves us so much, that He wants us to love Him on our own. God respects us so much, that He wants us to make our own choices. All choices have consequences. Of course there is freedom of choice. It is God's gift to us. We are free to choose right or wrong, good or evil, virtue or vice. But we must also freely encounter that which comes from making those choices. We have been brainwashed to believe that there are no consequences, and that there are no ramifications to our choices. And when bad choices are made, we appear to be shocked and surprised that bad consequences follow. We do not want the bad consequences. We do not...

Touched by the love of God, we want to grow in our faith, our hope, and our love. True faith is to believe when there is absolutely no sign of God. True hope is to trust when there is no palpable assurance that God is at work and that everything will turn out beautifully. True love is to give when nothing at all comes back. The message of Divine Mercy is nothing new, but is a reminder of what the Church has always taught through scripture and tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. The message of mercy is that God loves us, all of us, no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. All will come to share His joy.
