Little Videos on Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary

Dear little handmaids and friends, This link contains a series of awesome little videos that are interviews with Fr. Hugh Gillespie, a Montfort Mssionary who does an excellent job of making the meaning of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary more understandable. The videos run between 8 and 11 minutes long each. I've been watching just one a day. Hope you enjoy them, Mary's daughter, Cami -- http://www.familyholiness.com/catechism-true-devotion     Little Handmaids of Our Sorrowful Mother www.sorrowfulmother.net And Mary said, "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." Afterwords: Ten (10) Truths to Always Remember

Image
       1. Remember the beauty rather than the pain 2. Are we too busy running here and going there, taking care of this and handling that, to remember to care for the soul God has entrusted to us 3. Remember that God is watching and listening to everything we do and say; make Him proud of what He sees us do and what He hears us say 4. People may not remember exactly what we did, or what we said; but they will always remember how we made them feel 5. When we look for solutions to the problems and chaos that surround us, remember that Christ lifts us with the resources to fight and build a new life 6. People are watching us, and we would be amazed by what they notice and remember 7. Remember that God is present with us wherever we are and that He is working in our life and in the lives of people around us 8. Remember how important it is to give to others as God has given to us   9. Remember the joy, not the suffering 10. Remember God’s o

Teen News for July and August

Made to Love II will be led by the dynamic team of Marcellino and Anthony D’Ambrosio from Dallas!! Twin brothers Marcellino and Anthony approach the youth where they are. With the dramatic witness of their conversion from a rock and roll lifestyle to the radical Christianity of Scripture, they stand against our cultures norms for these teens. The youth today are under tremendous pressure to conform. Marcellino and Anthony know intimately the challenges confronting the youth today, because recently they were youth. Only by the conversion of their hearts have they found freedom from sin and fear.  Both twins have served as leaders for the Totus Tuus youth formation program in the diocese of Wichita, as well as leading countless retreats and youth nights. The twins are unafraid to challenge cliques, “social hierarchy,” and the idolization of appearance. T hey promote sexual abstinence, the value of family, true masculini

Catholic Bishops of Texas Call for Prayer, Action on Abortion Legislation

Image
July 11, 2013 View the Letter in PDF format. View the ACTION ALERT . Dear Friends, We, the Roman Catholic Bishops of Texas, are asking that each and every one of our friends in the pro-life community to join us this week in prayer and action to protect the lives of the unborn in our state. We make this call because time is of the essence. To succeed, our voices must be heard by state lawmakers in acting to reverse the culture of death that continues to seep into our society. As you know, the Texas Legislature has had intense, and at times acrimonious, debate recently over legislation to protect the health, safety, and dignity of life —both the life of the child in the womb and the life of the woman enduring the abortion. Current legislation under consideration takes a common sense approach to improving facility standards to address abortion complications, requires compliance with FDA standards for distributing the abortion drug RU- 486, requires abortion provi

I am a Christian

Image
(Received in email) Wow, all the important things in life, in one poem! TO ALL BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE When I say 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.' When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say '

A Little Handmaid's Testimony

Image
The Smiling Virgin of Toledo, Spain   June 25, 2013 What a beautiful celebration! Everything came out according to plan, and if something didn’t, it was improvised very well. The 7 sorrows rosary sounded like a harmony of many people. I absorbed Father Moreno’s words like a sponge! At that instant I wanted to change, I wanted to be a better person, I wanted to live for Christ by showing love for myself and neighbor! I learned that a little handmaid always needs to be happy and look happy; this is important so that others can feel God’s compassionate love. If you want to feel the compassionate love of Our Sorrowful Mother, listen to the song “Come to the Cross,” and you will be at peace and very happy on this earth and in eternity. Rosie Aguilar- a Little Handmaid of Our Sorrowful Mother (Thank you, Rosie, thank you for your joyful testimony, expressing the joy that I believe that everyone felt at our 3rd Anniversary Celebration. It was a beautiful gift from

Afterwords . . . Freedom in Christ

Image
  ·         This not a time for silence or shyness; this is a time to speak up and stand up for religious freedom ·         May God free us from the tyranny of self ·         Because of our fallen nature, we all are spiritually lame from the time of our conception and birth; we must receive a new nature to be freed from this spiritual lameness so we can walk as disciples in the footsteps of our Master, Jesus ·         Authentic Christian leaders are used by the Lord to free us to walk in the light, as Jesus is in the light ·         Faith and Freedom come to us through Christ ·         When we forgive, we bless ourselves with the freedom to move on ·         May we freely give to others the gifts that God has given us

Prayer for Religious Liberty

Image
O GOD OUR CREATOR, from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God, and your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit, you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel to every corner of society. We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty. Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation, so that, wi
