November 29, 2013: Del Rio News-Herald Letter to the Editor "Thankful for the little things in life"

Image
Thankful for the little things in life It is always and everywhere in the little things that God most manifests His greatness and grandeur, His most ardent and adamant love for us, His magnificent and majestic gestures of touching our heart, mind, and soul , causing a tear drop to well up in misty eyes, to roll down the cheek in gratitude for a love so exquisitely divine that nothing or no one can match it, much less surpass it. A sunset, is such a little thing that happens every day, the brilliant splash of an array of colors, cascading on a canvass of richly textured hues, a picture perfect portrait lighting up the sky, a backdrop, greeting the night time, as it is inevitably approaching, to bring to an end another day of life. Urgent request for prayer for unborn boy and his family

Dear little handmaids and friends, We have received this urgent request for prayer for this unborn baby and his family. Please keep them in prayer. Besides offering my Seven Sorrows Rosary, I will also be petitioning Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Unborn. Of course, Mary delivers our petitions straight to Her Divine Son, Jesus. In their Merciful Hearts, Cami Tomorrow , my granddaughter, Christina, will have a sonogram to determine whether the baby boy (Jonah) she is carrying will weigh over 5 pounds. She is in complete bed rest; in the hospital since the middle of August. The baby is almost without amniotic fluid since that time; his little lungs are still in development, and he is suffering kidney failure ( tomorrow he will be 34 weeks). If he has the necessary weight, she will be induced for a normal birth. The doctors will be ready if she needs a C-section. We are praying for her and her baby. I have placed her in our Mother Mary’s hands to present h

We must make still greater progress from ONE BREAD, ONE BODY

We must make still greater progress One Bread, One Body Paul told the Thessalonian Christians: "You must learn to make still greater progress" (1 Thessalonians 4:1). Paul was referring to progress in sexual purity. -         When Christians routinely look lustfully at others on TV, on-line, or in person, we must make still greater progress.   -          When many Catholics disagree with Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae Vitae without ever having read or understood it, we must make still greater progress.   -          When the Church's biblical teachings condemning homosexual acts as sinful and degrading are arrogantly dismissed, we have to make greater progress.   -          When lay single people don't know they have the preferred calling of renouncing sex for the sake of God's kingdom, we must make greater progress.   -          When most Christians don't know that "the pill" is not only a

The Lord's Blessing

This morning in prayer, as I began to think about the Marian consecration Mass that Fr. Moreno will celebrate on September 15, and all the groups who will be involved in the planning of it...an image of Jesus as He is portrayed in the Divine Mercy image came to mind, with great energy. With His right hand, which is raised in blessing, He gave the priestly blessing and said, "I give My blessing on this endeavor!" Thanks be to God!       How Great is our God!!! Our Creator and Redeemer . . . and do we THINK about it ??? God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.. . . . .For example: the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days; those of the canary in 14 days; those of the barnyard hen in 21 days; The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days; those of the mallard in 35 days;            The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days. (Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!) God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily. The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first. A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wis
