Thankful for the little things in life
It is always and everywhere in the little things that God most manifests His greatness and grandeur, His most ardent and adamant love for us, His magnificent and majestic gestures of touching our heart, mind, and soul, causing a tear drop to well up in misty eyes, to roll down the cheek in gratitude for a love so exquisitely divine that nothing or no one can match it, much less surpass it.
A sunset, is such a little thing that happens every day, the brilliant splash of an array of colors, cascading on a canvass of richly textured hues, a picture perfect portrait lighting up the sky, a backdrop, greeting the night time, as it is inevitably approaching, to bring to an end another day of life.

A smile is such a little thing that happens upon millions of people throughout the world, the face of another, illuminated with depth and warmth that overflows and spills out, radiating joy beyond understanding, encompassing the totality of what it means to be alive.

A sentimental song, is such a little thing that is heard hundreds of times throughout a life time, enraptured and enthralled, by the symphonic melodic tunes and symbolic inspired lyrics, that flood the innermost recesses of our being, where we truly come in contact with our most authentic and genuine self, that produces a profoundly poetic image of our most vulnerable humanity.

A sweet smelling scent, is such a little thing that happens whenever a whiff of gently blowing breeze brings it to our surroundings, deeply inhaling the exhilarating and intoxicating aroma, triggering nostalgic memorable images, of bygone happier times, and more pleasant and pleasurable places, that soothe and smother the senses, creating an ethereal environment of calmness, serenity and tranquility.

For such lovely little blessings, and millions upon millions more, are truly gifts from God, they are God saying, I love you, to each and everyone.

Thank God
Marian Casillas, Ed.D.
