Goodness Reigns

Goodness Reigns announced today that Leah Chen won its first mini-contest - a short-video competition entitled "Natural Family Planning: The Better Way." She has a popular YouTube channel called SheisCatholic.
Judges included Damon C. Owens, executive director of The Theology of the Body Institute; Jessica M. H. Smith, speaker and blogger of NFP Works, part of The Edith Stein Foundation; Greg and Jennifer Willits, co-hosts of SiriusXM's program The Catholics Next Door and co-authors of a new book, THE CATHOLICS NEXT DOOR: ADVENTURES IN IMPERFECT LIVING; and Brandon Vogt, author of The Church and New Media: Blogging Converts, Online Activists and Bishops Who Tweet.
Goodness Reigns is conducting People's Choice voting online this week. You can view the entries and vote for your favorite on the Goodness Reigns website. Voting ends this Sunday; Goodness Reigns will announce the winner next Monday - during Natural Family Planning Awareness Week. Videos will remain online indefinitely to serve as teaching tools for catechists, teachers and individuals.
Goodness Reigns is an apostolate designed to call upon youth and young adults to use media and art to explore and share the Catholic faith. It held its first short-film contest in conjunction with World Youth Day 2011, and attracted entries from around the world. Winners traveled to Madrid and presented their entries during a WYD Film Festival. Look for a similar contest leading up to WYD 2013 in Brazil. Details will be available soon.
