Catholic hierarchy: Sounded more like salesmen for socialists and pharmaceuticals by Marian Casillas, Ed.D.

Instead of having made a three (3) minute video advertisement entitled, “Pope urges people to receive COVID-19 vaccines” wouldn’t it have been truly an evangelization effort by the Pope along with several members of the Catholic hierarchy to have produced instead a video entitled, “Pope urges Catholics to receive the Sacraments and for all people to accept Our Lord Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church”.

Instead of a video being sponsored by “Get Vaccine Answers”, why not “Get Catholic Answers”?

Instead of  a video being sponsored by “It’s Up to You”, why not “It’s Up to God”?

Instead of  a video being sponsored by “Ad Council”, why not “Catechism of the Catholic Church”?

The following is what we would have liked for them to have said instead of what they did say:

POPE FRANCIS:

Thanks to God’s grace and to the work of His Only Begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ who protects us from eternal damnation. He alone brings hope to end the scourge of sin, but only if we make ourselves available to His Saving Grace and if we evangelize everyone.

ARCHBISHOP JOSE GOMEZ:

The terrible turning away from God and God’s Ways has caused spiritual suffering and death across the entire world. May God grant us the grace to face every evil with the strength of faith ensuring that God’s Salvation is available for all, so that we can all accept Salvation by the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

CARDINAL CARLOS AGUIAR RETES:

As we prepare for an eternal future as a universal Christian community we want to spread hope to all without exception. From North to South America we offer the Sacraments of Jesus Christ and eternal life for all.

CARDINAL RODRIGUEZ MARADIAGA:

There is still much to learn about our faith, but one thing is for sure the Authority of God is efficacious and He has come to save us. He is the key to the path of personal and universal healing.

 

CARDINAL CLAUDIO HUMMES:

The heroic efforts of all the saints have resulted in giving us examples to follow to protect the entire human family. Coming to faith in God is an act of love for all, especially those in most need of His Mercy.

CARDINAL GREGORIO ROSA CHAVEZ:

The Blood of Christ protects those in most need of His Mercy. Our choice to accept the salvific grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ affects us and all others. It is a moral responsibility, an act of love for the entire community.

ARCHBISHOP MIGUEL CABREJOS:

We are united in North, Central, South American and the Caribbean to promote and support with the love of God for all. I encourage you to act responsibly, as a member of the great Christian family of God. Seeking and protecting our spiritual health and the universal love of the Church.

POPE FRANCIS:

Receiving the Sacraments that are administered by the consecrated clergy is an act of love. And helping other people to do so is an act of love. Love for oneself, love for our families and friends and love for all people. God is Love in all areas of our lives. We need to bring the love of God into the social and political spheres. It is universal, always overflowing with small individual gestures capable of transforming and improving societies. Accepting God’s grace is a simple yet profound way to care for one another, especially those in most need of His Mercy. I pray to God that each one of us can make his or her own small gestures of love. No matter how small, love is always grand. Small gestures can be made for a grand eternal future. God bless you. Catholic hierarchy, we plead with you to stay focused on your God-given mission of leading souls to heaven and leave the issue of the vaccines to each individual following their conscience and do not parrot the political propaganda of politicians and public health officials.
