“Recalling the Crucifixion” How did God change your life? by Irene Ortiz
Peter and John were
firsthand witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection.
They saw him with their
own eyes.
Peter was the first to
heal a crippled man, in Jesus’ name.
Acts 3:6
Everyone that was there
were witnesses as well.
The apostles were the
first witnesses and through their preaching, teaching and proclaiming the word
of God other people became Christians and so it has been from one generation to
the next.
Today the role has been
passed on to us!
God has called me and
you to be his witnesses by the way we live and have an encounter with him; as
we celebrate the Risen Lord.
He also calls us to
share our faith openly to others on the historical events that happened a long
time ago, because of the Risen Jesus alive and present today.
We can testify of his
love for humanity.
You don’t have to stand
in front of a crowd or preach as Peter did, but God gives us an opportunity to
share creatively and tactfully how Jesus has changed us and is living and
working in our life today.
For example, you might
share with a friend an incident from the past where you have seen a change in
your life.
How he answered your
prayers, what brought you close to God or you can also talk about what you
think the Lord is saying to you today.
How do you feel when he
talks to you?
Talk about some of your
own struggles and how you have been healed because of your faith in Jesus.
So that people may
believe in God and in the miracles he has done in your life, because everything
is possible with God.
If people have faith;
you may offer to pray for their special needs for themselves or their family.
While celebrating Jesus’
resurrection we should be ready to be a witness to his power and the salvation
of the world and glorify God with your own life.
Ask God that you are
willing to share your life with others who are distant from him and to give you
a greater desire to do his work and follow his path of righteousness.
To use you as he wishes
and you will do his will and bring others close to him (Jesus Christ) our
Savior and Redeemer.
