The organization “Catholics for Biden” might have members who say they are Catholics and who support Biden, but one thing is for sure, Biden might say he is a Catholic but the Democratic platform and his policies are definitely not what the Catholic Church teaches.

The Catholic Church teaches that there are non-negotiable issues which must be adhered to by all Catholics and there are other concerns which can best be decided by prudential judgment.

The non-negotiable issues are: The dignity and sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death, traditional marriage and family and religious freedom. Other issues like the economy, the environment, education, and energy production; there can be legitimate debate about how best to achieve these goals among believing, faithful, practicing Catholics and the Church permits a wide range of latitude which Catholics can agree or disagree. But there can be no dispute among the firm and foundational basis of the non-negotiable issues.

Biden is for abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, he is for taxpayer funding of abortion, he will make the Little Sisters of the Poor include abortifacient drugs in their health insurance plan, and he officiated a same-sex wedding.

It is clearly evident that the Republican platform and President Trump’s Executive Orders and policy issues strongly supported and aligned on the side of Catholic moral teaching. He is considered by all Pro-Life Organizations to be the most pro-life President, and among his many pro-life accomplishments he signed a “Born Alive” executive order protecting babies that survive abortion.

Joe Biden, Democratic President, who is a Catholic, supports the explicitly anti-Catholic Democratic platform.

Point-by-point on the majority of issues the Republican platform more closely adheres with the Catholic tenets, whereas the Democratic platform overtly contradicts the major moral teachings of the Catholic Church. Not what cafeteria Catholics choose to selectively pick here and there to believe about the Catholic faith but what Scripture and Tradition have taught since the founding of Christianity by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
