Ofelia Vela, age 79, entered into rest on Monday, March 11, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on May 4, 1939 in Del Rio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Jose Moncivais, Sr. and Tomasa Sotelo; brothers Tomas Moncivais and Abram Moncivais.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years David G. Vela; son David Vela, Jr. and wife Antonia; daughter Dalinda A. Calvetti and husband Ruben; brothers Jose S. Moncivais, Jr. and wife Matilde, Arturo Moncivais and wife Berta; sisters-in-law Carolyn Moncivais and Carmen Moncivais; grandchildren Anthony Lee Calvetti, Christopher M. Vela, and Joseph M. Vela; great-grandson Maxwell Vela.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
