Lessons from an Earth Angel: Healing Hearts is Wonderness

Image
A young man with Down syndrome named Charlie shares his special prayers for the world, including one he made for the people of Newtown, Connecticut after their December 2012 tragedy. In this video, his mother asks him a few questions about his gift, and he reads some of his favorites from his growing collection. When Charlie was in his early teenage years, he began receiving what he calls, "prayers from God". Ever since the first one, he has dictated his words and his mom Jannirose has recorded them in a notebook. Universal in nature, the prayers Charlie "hears" offer hope and healing for humanity at a time when many have forgotten the simple truths that form the foundation of the world's great religions. In the pure and innocent reflection of his message, we are reminded that life is "for joyness", and love is the medicine that heals all wounds. "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." Matt. 5:8

Jannirose JOY (and Charlie) Fenimore

(Received in email) January 30, 2013   “Kind is our relationship, and God will make our hearts with loving.”(Charlie Fenimore)   Dear friends (old and new, near and far):   I’m writing to tell you about some very sweet happenings in the Fenimore family.   As many of you know, our eldest son Charlie (whom we adopted in 1993—he was born with Down syndrome) began “hearing” what he call “prayers” about the time he turned thirteen.   In the last seven years, he’s shared these unique, inspired words with family and friends in California, Texas and Ohio, and across the country as well.   The soul of joy and light makes feeling hearts to be healed.” (CF)      Now, it seems, Spirit is leading us to take his messages of hope and healing to a larger audience through articles, books, speaking engagements and various forms of social media that have, until recently, been a complete puzzle to me.   For this purpose, I’d like to invite you to view a recent video that we made that

January 22, 2013: Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children

Image
http://rememberingroe.com/                                In preparation for this national day of prayer and fasting, please take time to… REMEMBER the 54+ million lives destroyed by abortion and the 100+ million mothers and fathers and families who have been hurt by this violent act. REFLECT on the fact that America has become a smaller country full of the walking wounded—women and men broken by the abortion of a son, a daughter, a grandchild, or a sibling. With one third of our population missing, our country is hurting. REPENT as a nation for our leaders’ role in promoting and exporting abortion. Ask forgiveness for our country’s leaders who advance this disastrous decision in an attempt to control our population. Pray for forgiveness for those who fail to see the inherent value of human life, made in the image and likeness of the Lord of life. RESTORE the principle of safeguarding human dignity that is at the foundat

I am a Christian

Image
(Received in email) Wow, all the important things in life, in one poem! TO ALL BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE When I say 'I am a Christian', I am not shouting that 'I am clean living. I'm whispering 'I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.' When I say 'I am a Christian', I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess. When I say 'I am a Christian', I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.. When I say 'I am a Christian', I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name. When I say 'I am a Christ

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller's statement concerning the appointment of Bishop Oscar Cantú as Bishop of the Diocese of Las Cruces, New Mexico

Image
It is with heartfelt joy that I congratulate Bishop Oscar Cantú for his appointment as bishop of the Diocese of Las Cruces, New Mexico. I thank Pope Benedict XVI for this truly wise and Spirit-filled choice as an acknowledgement of the significance of Bishop Cantú’s contribution to the life of the Church in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Bishop Cantú has been a faithful servant to the people of the Archdiocese of San Antonio in his 4 1/2 years as auxiliary bishop. He has many accomplishments to his credit through his time here and has been a loving witness of faith and service through his inspired leadership. He is a man of profound wisdom and keen intelligence who has shared those gifts with us in many ways. His love for Catholic Education and his unwavering belief in it as a ministry central to the work of the Church, will long be felt by the children and youth of our schools. His energy and enthusiasm has acted as a magnet to our young peop

Afterwords: Twelve (12) Thoughtful Thoughts

Image
1. Is this thought a friend or a foe? If it is useful – do it; If it is useless – dump it 2. We must stay on the right train of thought and not get off track in order to arrive at our destination 3. Don’t just think thankful thoughts but more importantly talk thankful thoughts 4. God works marvelously, doing more than we could have asked or thought 5. Thought becomes action; we externalize what we internalize 6. A supernatural exchange: God’s Thoughts become our thoughts, God’s Ways become our ways and God’s Ideas become our ideas 7. Let His Spirit determine our thoughts and actions 8. May we remind ourselves daily of God’s faithfulness and thank him in advance for how he’s going to work things out marvelously and majestically beyond what we could have imagined, dreamed of, or thought possible 9. Pray blessings upon others whenever their name comes up in thought or in word 10. God must become our top priority, consuming our thoughts, our emotions an

Afterthoughts . . . . Pro-life

Why is it that some people are aggressively pro-death when it’s somebody else’s life; yet they are adamantly pro-life when it comes to their own life?

I n many secular places, the “Christmas” season runs all through Advent and ends on January 2nd, but Catholics know it starts on Christmas Eve and continues through the Baptism of the Lord on January 13th . So there is still plenty of time to reap the spiritual benefits : A rare column by Pope Benedict in the London Financial Times : A Time for Christians to Engage with the World Benedict's homily at Mass on Christmas Eve: What Would Happen if Mary and Joseph Knocked at My Door The pope’s annual Urbi et Orbi message on Christmas Day: Truth has Sprung Up, Bringing Kindness, Justice and Peace

Prayer for our Children's Safety

Image
God of Life, We are saddened by the tragedy That has struck our nation in Newtown, Connecticut.   We grieve and pray for those who were killed and injured, And for those who lost friends and loved ones. We pray for healing across our land.   Lord, you are the God of love, peace and life. Today we pray to you for the safety of our children. Lord, protect them from all evil, physical and spiritual.   When some would do them harm, stop the attackers in their tracks. When some would plot evil against them, turn their plans to nothing.   Today, Lord, make peace overcome violence, Make gentleness overcome destruction, Make love overcome hatred, Make healing and wholeness overcome sickness, Make life overcome death.     May we find comfort in your Word, which tells us:     "I lift up my eyes to the mountains;   From where shall come my help?   My help comes from the Lord,   Who made heaven a
