Archbishop Gustavo has joined with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in giving permission to the archdiocesan parishes and organizations, beginning in September, to introducing the new musical settings for the "people's parts" within the Mass. In a letter to the priests of the archdiocese the archbishop wrote, "I believe it is imperative that the Archdiocese of San Antonio be fully prepared for all the changes that will take place on November 27."
