Defund by NOT donating to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD)

Image
According to the National Catholic Reporter , Bishop Senior addressed the  United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) assembly on November 13 to give an update on the   Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).   NCR indicated that the CCHD awarded “93 grants totaling more than $2 million to dozens of community and economic development organizations,” which is a reduction of 57% of the average 215 grants normally provided.   The $2 million in grants is a massive drop of 88% from the $16 million average in annual grants for the previous ten years. Personal reflection:   Keep the pressure on! Defund by NOT donating to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).

Advertising is adversarial.

Personal reflection: The cereal was good, but I wouldn’t go so far as to use those extravagant superlatives to describe it. Beware of subliminal suggestive language that is evocative and enticing, it will ensnare and entrap you. When we mistakenly allow media to become our master, we will inevitably and incontrovertibly become their mangled and malleable minions.

Reject resistance and rebellion

Personal reflection: It must be cocktail hour! An  apple  martini (appletini for short) Strong men laugh: Ha Ha! Sissies laugh: He, He! What’s with the trophies and ribbons with medals? Why would a priest need a trophy and ribbons with medals “Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your worthless assemblies. Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all my being. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them.” - Isaiah 1:13-14  God doesn’t want convocations, assemblies, festivals, jamaicas, or synods on synodality. He wants true worship, not worthless worldliness!

Why a Solidarity Day?

Personal reflection:  Solidarity Day, united against bullying and united for acceptance, kindness and inclusion. Inclusion at Catholic schools of the crucifix instead of the cross.  As Catholics on October 7 we should be celebrating The Feast of Our Lady of Rosary. There are some things that should be unacceptable and excluded. Not everything should be accepted and included.

Calling all Catholics: Come to the aid of your ailing Mother by Marian Casillas, Ed.D. Compare the Gym at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish with the Parish Hall at Saint Joseph Parish and the John Patrick Stotle Community Center at Sacred Heart Parish. Compare the grounds around Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish with the grounds around Saint Joseph Parish and Sacred Heart Parish. Why has the oldest and most beautiful Catholic Church in the city of Del Rio been left to deteriorate and be summarily dismissed by not being compassionately cared for and lovingly maintained? Is this considered to be fair and equitable by the Archbishop? Instead of sending money to the Archbishop’s Appeal, use the money for the remodeling and upgrading of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. The entire Catholic Community of Del Rio, from all three (3) parishes, is being challenged to commit to the
