What a nice thank-you note from a canceled priest at Coalition For Canceled Priests

What a Thank You Note

Though Thanksgiving has come and gone, we cannot pass up the opportunity to share a special Thanksgiving letter we received from one canceled priest.

Esteemed Coalition for Canceled Priests,

In this time for giving thanks to God, I am so thankful and grateful for the work that has been entrusted to you. I thank the Priests of the Lord, Fr. John Lovell and Fr. Scott Duvall. I thank all those lay persons serving behind the scenes with the Coalition. I thank the countless number of lay Faithful from every place who have come to support this cause.

I have been a Priest of Our Lord, Jesus Christ now almost 14 years. I love the Lord, His Holy Priesthood, and His Holy People. It has been more than a year that I was removed of my stipend, my pension, and my healthcare. The Lord, Himself was the One who said, “Foxes have their dens and birds of the air their nests, but the Son of Man has no where to rest His Head.”. I was drawn deeply into this mystery of the Holy Priesthood. Thanks to the generosity of the Coalition for Canceled Priests, this servant of the Lord, in fact, has a place to rest his head and the ability to move about in search of the lost sheep. My motto has become: one soul at a time.

When I was removed from the parish where I had served as Pastor for 8 years, I began to minister and evangelize through social media. I began to experience tremendous difficulty as my mode of communication was an iPhone 8. Through the insistence of Fathers Lovell and DuVall and the help of the Coalition, I got a new iPhone 13, and I am back in the saddle doing the work of the Lord, helping many souls.

On my part, I pledge to the Coalition that I will continue to be faithful to my priestly vows and make every effort to lay down my life for God’s people. Even though my prayers are poor, I pray for you every day.

Ave Maria,

Fr. Henry Clay Hunt, III

PS. Beyond your prayer and fasting, we hope you'll consider making a special gift this Advent Season in support of Fr. Clay Hunt and the dozens of other canceled priests we support. See below for more information on ways to financially give.
