Letter to the Editor, “Blackface and boldface” Democrat Governor Northam of Virginia presented two sides of the same coin, in “blackface” photo showing himself a racist and in “boldface” supporting the legality of late-term abortion, specifically infanticide, killing babies born-alive, and he’s a pediatric neurologist no less.  Yet which of these two incidents is he being hounded to resign, it isn’t because of his advocacy of killing born-alive babies. He boldly replied when asked about the abortion bill, “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and mother.” Later he was asked if he had any regrets about what he had said, and he boldly responded, “No, I don’t have any regrets. I regret that those comments have been mischa

Letter to the Editor, Morality trumps legality  There are certain events that imprint an indelible image, forever forged in our memories, which we cannot escape their powerful impact upon our psyche.  One such event occurred when viewing a video-clip of the Democrats in the New York State Legislature standing and cheering the passage of a law that allows abortion until the moment of the baby’s birth.  The moment of delivery is one inch; one second away from infanticide.  The timeline separating abortion and infanticide is an ever-narrowing division of time and space. That scene was reminiscent of various ostentatious bodies of lawmakers throughout the centuries that have similarly legalized atrocities and may have also stood and cheered at the passage of those laws.  Images of the lawmakers in Nazi Germany standing and cheering after the legalization of the Holocaust, the kingly courts standing and cheering after the legalization of Genocide of Indigeno

February 13, 2019: The Russians made me do it! * Letter to the Editor * OPINION * Del Rio News-Herald

Letter to the Editor The Russians made me do it! Comedian Flip Wilson had Americans laughing with his characters "Reverend Leroy," the jovial, pompous pastor of the "Church of What's Happening Now," and "Geraldine Jones," the feisty African-American woman in a miniskirt.  Whenever Geraldine would impulsively do anything she shouldn't, she excused herself by uttering the line she made famous, "The devil made me do it!" Americans laughed at Geraldine for her obviously lame excuse. In fact, to say, "The devil made me do it," became the rage all over the country. Everyone was saying it. Now the rage, all over our country is to say, “The Russians made me do it!”   Whatever shouldn’t have been done is now blamed on the Russians.  It was the Russians all along who made us vote for Donald Trump and not vote for Hillary Clinton. It was the Russians unbeknownst to us all, who tricked us into filling in

February 10, 2019: 'Snake news' * Letter to the Editor * OPINION * Del Rio News-Herald

Letter to the Editor, “Snake news” It is no longer merely “fake news” that the mainstream media spews, rather it is more scary and sinister because it is “snake news” that slithers and slides along on its hidden and hideous underbelly, ever ready to sink its teeth with venomous vocabulary.  The leftists’ media is only concerned with enforcing politically-correct speech when it is to their benefit, but it doesn’t matter the vile and vitriolic vocabulary that is utilized against their opponents.  Now their perceived enemy and politically-incorrect opponent is a teenage boy from Kentucky, wearing a red baseball cap with the slogan “Make America Great Again”, who was in Washington, D.C. with his Catholic high school group to attend the 46 th Annual March for Life. We must demand that the media regard children as being “off limits”.    Just like the news media has placed the president’s children as being “off limits” since President Obama took office, now all

February 1, 2019: Two marches * Letter to the Editor * OPINION * Del Rio News-Herald

Letter to the Editor, Two Marches Contrasting the March for Life and the Women’s Marches The 46 th Annual March for Life was held on January 18 in Washington, D.C.; the various Women’s Marches scattered throughout the country were held on January 19. The March for Life has been a united effort since its inception; whereas, the Women’s March has splintered because of the non-inclusivity by the leadership of the first Women’s March held in Washington, D.C. three years ago, particularly that pro-life women were not welcome.  This year allegations of anti-Semitism pushed many organizers in other cities to disassociate themselves from that group.  At the March for Life all are wholeheartedly welcome.  It is not exclusive nor does it prohibit anyone, it especially does not reject the pre-born babies. It sees the beauty and dignity of every human life and wants to see it valued and protected. The March for Life loves men, women and babies. The March fo
