The Russians made me do it!
Comedian Flip Wilson had Americans laughing with his characters
"Reverend Leroy," the jovial, pompous pastor of the "Church of
What's Happening Now," and "Geraldine Jones," the feisty
African-American woman in a miniskirt.
Whenever Geraldine would impulsively do
anything she shouldn't, she excused herself by uttering the line she made
famous, "The devil made me do it!" Americans laughed at Geraldine for
her obviously lame excuse. In fact, to say, "The devil made me do
it," became the rage all over the country. Everyone was saying it.
Now the rage, all over our country is to say, “The Russians made
me do it!” Whatever shouldn’t have been
done is now blamed on the Russians.
It was the Russians all along who made us
vote for Donald Trump and not vote for Hillary Clinton.
It was the Russians unbeknownst to us all, who tricked us into
filling in the oval on the ballot next to the name of Donald Trump instead of
filling in the oval on the ballot next to the name of Hillary Clinton.
It was
the Russians who dug up all the dirt on the Clintons and made Donald Trump look
squeaky clean, pristine and polished. How could that possibly be? When Donald
Trump kept throwing dirt on himself and the media made the most of it; while
making Hillary look her best when she was at her worst.
But no, it was those
dastardly, reprehensible, trolling Russians who infiltrated the vast World Wide
Web and cast their spell into every nook and cranny of the internet.
A conspiracy theorist was probably binge-watching “The Rocky and
Bullwinkle Show” on the Cartoon Network and convoluted the cartoon show with
the 2016 Presidential election.
The
theater of the absurd with Pottsylvanian spies Boris Badenov whose surname is a
play on 16th-century Russian Tsar Boris Godunov, Natasha Fatale who is almost
always shown in a purple dress, but in the last season it is often red, and
Fearless Leader from “Central Control”, all controlling the election.
