Afterwords: Ten (10) Memorable Monuments about Miracles

Image
1)     God turns our maybes into His miracles . 2)     Miracles happen when they are needed the most and expected the least. 3)     There are a million miracles occurring all around us, it’s just that we’re not observant enough to notice them. 4)     Not just a million miracles a minute.   But rather: A MILLION MIRACLES A MINUTE!   5)     Miracles happen in the realm of the miraculous . Enter miracle territory; where miracles happen. 6)     Miracles can strike as suddenly as mayhem. 7)     In order to make a miracle materialize, all we have to do is pray. That’s the miracle , we prayed! Make a miracle happen today, PRAY! 8)     Underneath every mistake is a miracle waiting to be uncovered. 9)     Expect a miracle every day and never be disappointed. 10)    Believe God, a miracle is on the way. Do not miss The Miracle .

The Beatification of Pope John Paul II

Image
Pope John Paul II had a profound theological, spiritual and moral impact on countless Catholics and non-Catholics alike. He was an amazing charismatic spiritual leader who helped bring down Communism and renewed the life of the Church.  In honor of this great man, whose Beatification will be performed by Pope Benedict on May 1 in Rome, let us pray to this great  man who was a defender of all that is true, good and beautiful, so that we too may be a defender of all that is true, good and beautiful.  May we spring forth with the new evangelization and spread the culture of life and the civilization of love.

Pope appoints youngest bishop in US to Detroit archdiocese

Image
By Marianne Medlin ( CNA/EWTN News ) Pope Benedict appointed Texas priest Jose Auturo Cepeda as an auxiliary bishop of Detroit. At the age of 41, he will become the youngest bishop in the U.S. Bishop-elect Cepeda currently serves as the rector of Assumption Seminary in San Antonio and is the third in a recent round of newly appointed auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Detroit.   “God is the One who does all the work and gives us all the grace we need. All we need to do is say 'yes,' just like Mary. That's my attitude.”   “He is a true son of Our Lady of Guadalupe,” Archbishop Vigneron said. “I know she will help him to share his gifts with us, so that all of us – from so many diverse cultures – will share our gifts of grace with one another.” Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Bishop-elect Cepeda came to the U.S. with his family at the age of 19, having already started his discernment for joining the priesthood. He was ordained a priest in 1996 at his

A Prayer for Rain

Image
Almighty God, we are in need of rain. We realize now, looking up into the clear, blue sky, what a marvel even the least drop of rain really is. To think that so much water can fall out of the sky, which now is empty and clear! We place our trust in You. We are sure that You know our needs. But You want us to ask You anyway, to show You that we know we are dependent on You. Look on our dry hills and fields, dear God, and bless them with the living blessing of soft rain. Then the land will rejoice, and the rivers will sing Your praises, and the hearts of men will be made glad. Amen.

Reflection of Father Moreno's Homily: April 24, 2011- Easter Sunday

Image
A mother pleaded with Jesus to come to her house for her daughter had died. Jesus raised His Heart to His Father and raised the young girl; the little girl woke up from death, and He told them to give her something to eat. In Bethany His best friend Lazarus died, he was in the tomb for four (4) days. He told them to roll the stone and the words of Jesus were, “Lazarus, come out”. His Words to us are, “(Our Name), come out” from our tombs. Jesus brought them back to life, Jesus can bring us back to life. We celebrate the central faith of Christianity that Jesus has risen from the dead, He is alive. Do you believe? This is what Easter is about: Jesus dying for our sins and rising from death. Christianity is the only religion that claims the Resurrection.   If we die in Jesus you will rise with Jesus because death had been conquered. Jesus will raise us on the last day. In Jesus we have hope of eternal life. Come to Jesus for eternal life. Jesus said, “Peace be with

Afterwords: Five (5) Facts about the Resurrection

Image
   1)     By the Resurrection of Our Redeemer we are rebuilt, refitted, refreshed, renewed and restored 2)     The reward comes after the contest. The Resurrection comes after the Crucifixcion. 3)     Identifying with Christ’s Crucifixion, Our Savior’s Sufferings and Our Redeemer’s Resurrection will forever change our life. 4)     The God of Resurrection brings back to life things that have died. 5)     Die through Christ’s Death. Resurrect through Christ’s Resurrection .

Reflection of Father Moreno's Homily: April 22, 2011- Good Friday

Image
We are like lambs that need Our Good Shepherd. We must die with Jesus to be resurrected with Jesus. John the Baptist saw Jesus and said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world”. Jesus is The Perfect Sacrifice. Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?” The Truth is Jesus and The Truth will set you free”. We are at Golgotha with Jesus. We can only find comfort, hope and meaning in our lives in Jesus. “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do”. We must drink from the same cup that Jesus drank from, the cup of forgiveness. We are not to turn our backs against Him. We must forgive others; receive forgiveness and the healing mercy of Jesus Christ. We are the mob and ignore The Truth. We must listen to The Truth. We want power, to dominate and control – Jesus wants us to be servants. We are the soldiers following orders; just because it is a law does not make it moral. Abortion is legal but it is not moral. The law said that Jesus must be crucified b

Reflection of Father Moreno's Homily: April 10, 2011

As we come to the end of Lent and prepare for Holy Week, let us ask for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. These are the most startling words in the Bible . . . And Jesus wept, He wept for his friend Lazarus. At the Mount of Olives Jesus weeps, He weeps over Jerusalem. He weeps because it is His Hour now.   Jesus is glorified by raising Lazarus from the dead . . . enter the dark night of the soul . . . enter the tomb.   He weeps for Lazarus his friend whom he loved. He loves his friends Mary, Martha and Lazarus.   They extend hospitality and He enters into their home and into their heart, they invite Him into their home and into their heart. We must extend our hospitality and invite Jesus to enter into our homes and into our hearts. Mary, Martha and Lazarus walked in The Light, while the Pharisees were in darkness because they rejected His Friendship, they killed Him and they lived in darkness. We choose light or darkness, being friends of Jesus or enemies of Jesus.

Lenten Journey 2011 - April 5, 2011 - Presenter: Fr. Antonio O. Moreno - Week 10: To Believe in Jesus the one who is sent

(Received as email) Knights of Columbus Bible Tuesday 7:00 p.m. K. C. Hall Hwy 90 - Del Rio, Texas Opening prayer/ Psalm 23 Lenten Journey: Fourth Sunday of Lent (cycle A) As we recall the main events in salvation history, the biblical authors could not fail to mention the election and anointment of David (1Sam 16:1, 6-7; 10-13). “To sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth,” such is the eternal plan that God has been pursuing forever.   He gave the mission of fulfilling this plan to his Son, the new David,  over who John the Baptist saw the Holy Spirit descend and  rest at Jesus’ baptism (Jn. 1:34).   Those who, in faith,  welcome God’s elect and are regenerated in the baptismal bath, become light and must henceforth live as “children of light”.   Such is St. Paul’s pressing exhortation that he has us listen to on this Fourth Sunday of Lent in year A (Eph. 5:8-14).   Jesus is the light, He cures a man born blind, and Jesus identifies himself as the Son of Man.
