  Personal reflection:   Catholic Charities second collection goes to pay the salaries of all these people who work for the Catholic Charities organization in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Don’t give through a middleman, instead give directly to a family you know who needs financial assistance, or to Saint Vincent De Paul who depends primarily on volunteers.

 

  Personal reflection: Be a risk taker in the universe,  not a relentless repetition of being risk-averse Risk being ridiculous for God Living abundantly means facing obstacles and taking risks Wisdom means to know when to take risks and when to be cautious  

  Personal reflection: God bless Catholic artists who use their God-given talent to give all the glory to God. Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, pray for us.

  Personal reflection: God blows us lovely kisses Be sure to catch and cherish them   But don’t just keep them Send them along the way   To someone who needs God’s lovely kisses   It will blow them away Because God thinks we’re to die for!

  Personal reflection:  No longer does the label say “Made in China”;  now it says “Made in PRC”, which is the People’s Republic of China.

 

  Personal reflection: Priests are no longer pastors/shepherds. They have indeed retreated from feeding and tending their lambs and their sheep. They are hired hands who leave their flock for the wolves to devour.  It’s a retreat from their pastoral responsibilities. It’s a treat for themselves to partake of the big city restaurants and recreations. Maybe we should bring back the custom of kissing a priest’s hands to remind them of their Holy Hands, and that they are not hired hands.

  Personal reflection: Don’t keep feeding the savage emotional beasts, they can never be satiated. Don’t keep feeding the vicious vices, they can never be satisfied. Vicious vices: hatred, sloth, envy, discord, quarreling, objectifying others, lust, prudishness, heresy, doubt, disbelief, disloyalty, treachery, irreverence, fear, audacity, cowardice, stinginess, wastefulness, quarrelsomeness, selfishness, despair, presumption, pride, self-loathing, dishonesty, animosity, meanness, indifference, sloth, workaholism, disobedience, defiance, malevolence, meanness, mercilessness, anger, negligence, inconstancy, gluttony, greed, drunkenness, lust, acedia, apathy, complacency, lukewarmness, etc.   Bring emotions under Christ’s submission. God’s Spirit and God’s Truth are more powerful than emotions and vices.
