Beauty is not skin deep, it is soul deep

Personal reflection:

Someone recently made mention of the prevailing attitude that only unattractive women enter the consecrated religious life.

Then according to that criteria, these women definitively shouldn’t be there because they don’t fit that false and utterly mistaken narrative.

Some women are only considered conventionally outwardly attractive; while others are radiantly beautiful both inside and out.

It appears that the vast majority of consecrated religious women qualify as being the latter.

Outward appearance is fleeting and fading; inner attributes are strong and stable.

The peace, joy, and love of the Lord that illuminates their inner soul bursts forth shining brightly throughout their outward semblance.

The best beauty regiment for the soul is prayer, meditation, and self-sacrifice.

The body dies and decays; the soul lives on forever.

God bless more young women to fulfill their God-given vocation as Sisters and Nuns, Brides of Christ.
