We Do Not Accompany Those With Sin Attractions, We Announce God's Good News of Salvation From The Slavery of Sin

Personal reflection:

We are all tempted, Jesus during His time on earth was tempted, but He did not sin.

It’s not being simply same-sex attracted, its being tempted to have sinful sex outside of the Sacrament of Matrimony, of one man and one woman for life, with both the unitive and procreative aspects being lived with the grace of God, for the glory of God, and the eternal salvation of souls.

It's not that they’re merely attracted to having sex with those of their same sex, it's that they’re attracted to committing a mortal sin that is an abomination in the sight of God.

Would we say we would accompany those who are adultery-attracted, alcohol-attracted, bullying-attracted, cheating-attracted, coveting-attracted, cursing-attracted, drug-attracted, human trafficking-attracted, idolatry-attracted, lying-attracted, minor children-attracted, murder-attracted, polyamorous-attracted, pornography-attractedstealing-attracted, swindling-attracted, terrorist-attracted, violence-attracted, etc.?

The temptation to act in a vice-filled manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a virtue-filled manner.

Not to turn to God and to give in to a vice is a sin.

After we’ve committed a sin we seek God’s forgiveness in the Sacrament of Confession.

“In the Sacrament of Penance, the Faithful who confess their sins to a Priest, are sorry for those sins and have a purpose of amendment, receive from God, through the absolution given by that Priest, forgiveness of sins they have committed after Baptism, and at the same time they are reconciled with the Church, which by sinning they wounded.  (Canon 959)”

The Vice of Pride is a denial of the superiority of the Creator and an inflation of our ego.

It leads to excessive ambition, an overestimation of our own strengths and the desire to be idolized by others.

The Virtue of Humility is a recognition that we are creatures and in need of God.

It helps us to form a true opinion of ourselves, to disregard shallow popularity and to free us from self-obsession.

The temptation to act in a prideful manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a humble manner.

The Vice of Envy is an anger or sadness that other people have gifts and possessions that we want for ourselves.

The Virtue of Charity is gratitude for the gifts and talents of others and a desire that each and every person reaches their potential.

The temptation to act in an envious manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a charitable manner.

The Vice of Anger is a disordered state in which we take revenge on others, or an unfair opposition to a person or thing.

The Virtue of Meekness is a self-control, not a weakness, which allows us to master our emotions when attacked or wronged.

The temptation to act in an angry manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a meekly manner.

The Vice of Sloth is a laziness that prevents us from doing what we can achieve and should do.

The Virtue of Diligence is a readiness to always do what is needed.

It makes even difficult tasks achievable.

The temptation to act in a slothful manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a diligent manner.

The Vice of Avarice is an immoderate desire for possessions and gifts.

Leads to injustice, stealing and indifference to the poor.

The Virtue of Magnanimity is a generosity towards others in sharing God’s gifts.

It brings personal contentment with what we possess.

The temptation to act in an avaricious manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a magnanimous manner.

The Vice of Gluttony is a disordered love for food and drink.

It leads us to eat and drink excessively and exclusively for pleasure.

The Virtue of Temperance is a right use of food and drink for nourishment and pleasure.

It leads to self-control in many other areas.

The temptation to act in a gluttonous manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a temperate manner.

The Vice of Lust is a disordered craving for generally sexual selfish and sensual pleasure.

It leads to abuses of the body and the family and many addictions.

The Virtue of Chastity is a proper use of our sexuality. It leads us to guard our heart and mind from evil influences, gives us freedom and allows us to love purely.

The temptation to act in a lustful manner is overcome by the saving grace of God to act in a chaste manner.

The only solution to the sin of sexual lust, which is incorrectly named same-sex attraction, is practicing chastity and purity of mind and body.

We’re all called to avoid the near occasion of sin; to keep guard over our mind and body, to have custody over our eyes of what we see, to have custody over our ears of what we hear.

We are called to utilize the Sacraments and sacramentals given to us by Holy Mother Church, to maintain a life of prayer and sacrificial self-giving.

We are called to live in a loving Trinitarian union with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Our Blessed Mother, and all the Angels and Saints.

We are called to have faithful and fruitful fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ to lead all souls to heaven.

Let us pray: Lord lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
