Dear sisters and brothers in Christ through His
Holy Mother,
I am sending you a tribute to Blanca Briones
with the hope that it will be a source of consolation for you.
"The light shines in the darkness, and the
darkness has not overcome it!"

The Magnificat:
A Tribute to Blanca Briones
Yesterday,
the day after Blanca’s passing from this world into the Hearts of Jesus and
Mary in the next world, I was blessed to have a telephone conversation with Fr.
Clay Hunt about Blanca. We were sharing our admiration for our sister. We both
spoke about the bright light that Blanca was in the Church. Fr. Clay said that
that was confirmed by the Gospel on the day that she passed, Wednesday,
December 22, 2021. The Gospel was of the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55)
I
said that Blanca’s spirit mirrored the spirit of Our Immaculate and Compassionate Mother
in her song of praise.
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord...”
In
this world Blanca’s soul, in union with Our Mother’s soul, magnified the Lord
in her love for her family: her husband, her sons, her granchildren, her
father and mother, and all in her family. Her soul magnified the Lord, who is
Love, in her love for the unborn, the young people, priests, and the Church,
and for all of God’s “least of these brothers and sisters of Jesus.”
“...and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior...”
Surely
Blanca’s spirit rejoiced in God, her Savior, each morning that she attended
Holy Mass and received the Gift of His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Surely
Blanca’s spirit rejoiced in God her Savior, as she knelt, in union with the
Immaculate Heart of Our Mother, in adoration of the Lord.
“...for He has regarded the low estate of His
handmaiden...”
The
little handmaids of Our Sorrowful Mother have been blessed for the last nine
years to have Blanca as one of our little handmaid sisters. She is the daughter
of Our Sorrowful and Immaculate Mother, who is the Handmaid of the Lord. Blanca
has reflected the Compassion and Tenderness of Our Mother. Our Mother has
filled her daughter with Her Fervent Desire for the Lord, and now her desire
for the Lord is being fulfilled.
I
pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to console us as we reflect on the
beauty and goodness of Blanca.
