Amid the myriad scandals plaguing the hierarchy today, one facet that always needs to be stressed is the finances. The bishops' money is really our money, the money of the laity. Church Militant's Joe Gallagher reports on how some laity have had enough of their donation money funding far-left activism.
Michael Hichborn, founder and president of the Lepanto Institute: "The CCHD [Catholic Campaign for Human Development] is knowingly financing an organization that is directly promoting abortion, is partnered with Planned Parenthood and is heavily involved in the advocacy for homosexual activism."
Catholic media across the country are teaming up to shut down the CCHD — the national anti-poverty program of the U.S. bishops.
In what many are calling the "Deception Collection," the CCHD has had decades-long involvement in advocating for programs that directly contradict Catholic teaching.
The list of Catholic media and commentators continues to grow and includes:

- the Angry Catholic podcast
- Milo Yiannopoulos
- Tim Gordon
- The Lepanto Institute
- The Terry and Jesse Show from Virgin Most Powerful Radio
- Fr. James Altman
- And many others
The newest addition is Patres Fidelium Christi, or PFC for short. This group is also known as Church Militant's New Catacombs.
In a vote of unanimous approval, the Catacombs' hundreds of anonymous priests and deacons put together a statement last week on the CCHD:
Catholics should not support the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. ... For more than 40 years, CCHD has used funds faithful Catholics have donated ... to support groups that promote and defend abortion, homosexuality, contraception and many other agendas that contradict the teaching of the Church.
The CCHD is just one of several collections with worrisome ties to anti-Catholic establishments.
