De encuestas y sínodos: ¡Sálvanos, Señor! por Marian Casillas, Ed.D./From Surveys and Synods: Save us, O Lord! by Marian Casillas, Ed.D.

 

Algunas personas recibieron una encuesta enviada por correo electrónico por la Arquidiócesis de San Antonio y algunas personas serán cordialmente invitadas a asistir al Sínodo de Sinodalidad.

¿Es éste el negocio o el trabajo agitado de la Iglesia?  ¿Se trata simplemente de una campaña publicitaria y de promoción de relaciones públicas mundana y trivial? ¿Son estas simples distracciones y diversiones, o presentan un desvío más falso y peligroso? La única forma segura de que realmente lo sabremos es ver los frutos que producen.

Comentario sobre la encuesta:

"¿Su parroquia ha hecho lo suficiente para que se sienta seguro y más cómodo en la Misa?"

 ¿Desde cuándo es deber, obligación o responsabilidad de la parroquia hacer que una persona se sienta segura o más cómoda en la Misa? ¿Pueden realmente evitar que una persona se enferme o se lastime mientras se encuentra en la propiedad de la iglesia? Hay peligros para la salud y la seguridad a nuestro alrededor dondequiera que vayamos. La vida está llena de riesgos y vivir es una aventura arriesgada.

Algunas preguntas parecen ser seductoras, sobornados, persuasivas y tentadoras para asistir a la Misa, como proporcionar: comida después de la Misa, actividades y eventos sociales para crear conexiones y compañerismo, homilías relevantes, estudios bíblicos, cuidado de niños, clases para explicar la Misa y el conocimiento del pastor a nosotros y nuestra familia personalmente.

Muchas preguntas giran en torno a COVID, lo que le da demasiada credibilidad. Aparentemente, la Iglesia está de acuerdo con la narrativa mundial de que COVID cambió el mundo, cuando la narrativa de la Iglesia solo debería ser que CRISTO cambió el mundo y que a través de la conversión puede cambiarnos a nosotros.

La Iglesia debería ser una súper difusora de fe y no una súper difusora de miedo como los que no creen. Por supuesto, como en todas las cosas, debemos ser prudentes y cuidadosos, pero no hasta el punto de ser cobardes atemorizados y encogidos, asustados de la muerte y la enfermedad. En su mayor parte, tener algún tipo de enfermedad diagnosticada parece ser parte de la vida moderna y la muerte de todos es una realidad inevitable.

Hay preguntas sobre el nivel de educación, la etnia, el nivel de ingresos, el uso y la participación de las redes sociales y el uso del idioma; sin embargo, solo se mencionan inglés y español.

Gracias a Dios, la encuesta solo permitió dos (2) respuestas por género: MASCULINO o FEMENINO.

"¿Ha sido la Misa semanal una parte integral de ser católico para usted?"

¿Puede una persona ser católica y no tener la Misa semanal como parte integral de su vida? ¿No es uno de los Diez Mandamientos el santificar el día del Señor? ¿No es uno de los Preceptos de la Iglesia asistir a Misa los domingos y Días Santos de Obligación? ¿No es un pecado mortal no asistir a Misa sin tener una buena razón? ¿No ha quitado el Arzobispo la dispensa de tener que asistir a Misa?

Hay preguntas sobre los servicios católicos de transmisión en vivo de la Misa, estudios de las Escrituras, Adoración, Homilías y el Rosario. La transmisión en vivo se presentó como una alternativa viable cuando las iglesias estaban cerradas durante COVID, y ahora algunas personas se han aclimatado a este nuevo ambiente, al igual que el trabajo desde casa, ahora es adoración desde casa.

Puede deducirse de los resultados pasados ​​de encuestas y sínodos que, en su mayor parte, son superfluos y superficiales. Aunque, el reciente Sínodo del Amazonas en el Vaticano trajo consigo la adoración del ídolo de la Pachamama, la diosa de la Madre Tierra, y fue seguido inmediatamente por la devastadora crisis de la pandemia mundial. Oremos para que este próximo Sínodo no produzca más abominaciones junto con sus concomitantes ramificaciones catastróficas.

Jesucristo, cuando comenzó su ministerio, no envió encuestas ni convocó sínodos para obtener las opiniones de la gente sobre en qué deberían consistir sus enseñanzas o qué verdades eran más atractivas y aceptables para que la gente creyera y siguiera. “Entonces muchos de sus discípulos que estaban escuchando dijeron: ‘Esta palabra es dura; ¿quién puede aceptarlo?’” Juan 6:60

La Iglesia ya tiene todo lo que necesita o necesitará. Tenemos la Sagrada Escritura; no necesitamos ni queremos las escrituras seculares del mundo. Tenemos la Sagrada Tradición; no necesitamos ni queremos las tradiciones seculares del mundo. Tenemos el Sagrado Magisterio; no necesitamos ni queremos que las autoridades docentes seculares del mundo de los expertos y las élites prediquen su retórica demoníaca y perjudicial que solo nos llevará a la condenación.

Entonces, ¿por qué la Iglesia pierde su tiempo, talento, y tesoro en encuestas y sínodos? La Iglesia tiene las Verdades y Enseñanzas Eternas de Dios para todos los tiempos y para todas las edades.

No hay Iglesia del pasado, ni Iglesia del presente, ni Iglesia del futuro. Hay una sola Iglesia, Santa, Católica y Apostólica, siempre antigua y siempre nueva. La Iglesia ya ha recibido su mandato y órdenes de marcha: “Id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones”. Mateo 28:19

Lo que más se necesita en la Iglesia son líderes-siervos fuertes, llenos del espíritu y sacrificados que proclamarán con valentía en palabras, y producirán con valor en obras, como lo hicieron sus predecesores en ese día del primer Pentecostés. Por supuesto que serán perseguidos, ese es el costo de ser un verdadero discípulo de Cristo.

No necesitamos que el clero nos acompañe en nuestros pecados o que dialogue con nosotros sobre la vida inmoral que estamos viviendo.

Necesitamos sacerdotes y obispos que nos desafíen a la conversión, a alejarnos de nuestros caminos inmorales y a volver al camino hacia una vida gloriosa y llena de gozo aquí en este mundo y una vida eterna en el próximo mundo. Necesitamos sacerdotes que nos amen lo suficiente como para decirnos la Verdad de Dios y convencernos de nuestros pecados para que el arrepentimiento y la renovación puedan ocurrir para que dejemos atrás nuestros vicios y luchemos por llevar una vida virtuosa y victoriosa.

¿Qué pensarían los Apóstoles de estos hombres que hoy son sus sucesores en el día presente?

San Juan Bautista le dijo la verdad a los poderosos y fue decapitado. Todos los Apóstoles, con la excepción de San Juan, el Apóstol Amado, fueron martirizados.

¿Qué están diciendo los obispos a los que se dicen que son políticos católicos cuyas palabras y acciones son contrarias a las enseñanzas de Cristo y la Iglesia Católica? Sus palabras de moda son acompañamiento y diálogo. ¿Qué significan estas palabras?

¿Qué dirían y harían los apóstoles con los que se dicen que son políticos católicos de nuestro tiempo? Sus palabras de sabiduría probablemente serían: “No seré cómplice de su discurso deshonesto. No apruebo, más bien condeno sus actos diabólicos. Regresa cuando te hayas arrepentido y tendrás redención.”

Vivimos en una época en la que la Verdad se ha torcido y se ha puesto patas arriba. Desenrolla la Verdad y plántala en patas firmes en el suelo.

Vivimos con la cortina de fondo donde la Belleza ha sido rota y golpeada y se hace inclinarse por medio de la traición y la brutalidad. Recupere el esplendor de la belleza liberándose de las ataduras a las tendencias de moda. Sana a los maltratados y golpeados que han sucumbido a lo que creen que es "elevado" y "moderno" y deja de traicionarnos y brutalizarnos con lo que el mundo dice que son problemas y preocupaciones.

El único "cambio climático" que realmente debemos preocuparnos son los incendios eternos del infierno.

Somos una generación en la que la Bondad ha sido despojada de todas sus esencias y gloria y se humilla y da pasaje a los edictos, mandatos, y proclamas del gobierno pagano. Ponte del lado de la Bondad con Nuestro Buen Dios, quien es el único que debe ser glorificado y recibir todo honor, alabanza y acción de gracias.

Todos tenemos agujeros en forma de Dios en nuestros corazones, mentes y almas que solo Dios puede llenar.

Solo la Verdad de Dios puede llenar verdaderamente el agujero de la Verdad formado por Dios en nuestra mente porque refuta los engaños demoníacos que nunca persuadirán a la mente que siempre averigua.

Solo la Bondad de Dios puede llenar verdaderamente el agujero de Bondad en forma de Dios en nuestro corazón porque rechaza las profanaciones demoníacas que nunca aplacarán el corazón que siempre busca.

Solo la Belleza de Dios puede llenar verdaderamente el agujero de la Belleza en forma de Dios en nuestra alma porque renuncia a las distorsiones demoníacas que nunca complacerán al alma que siempre examina.

Lo que se necesita son pastores valientes y valerosos que lucharán contra los lobos para proteger su rebaño y nada más servirá. ¿No están dispuestos a entregarse totalmente a Cristo y su Iglesia hasta el punto de derramar su propia sangre?

Fueron ordenados para ser pastores de las almas eternas de las personas, no marionetas cuyos hilos que son movidos por los políticos. Se derrumbaron por miedo, cuando deberían haber sido valientes debido a su fe en Dios.

Parecen tener miedo de ser arrestados y multados, yendo en contra de personas aparentemente todopoderosas en posiciones prestigiosas. Parecen tener miedo de ser perseguidos, pero ¿no dijo Nuestro Señor: "Si me han perseguido a mí, también los perseguirán a ustedes"? Juan 15:20.

Escaparon de la persecución del gobierno, pero ¿escaparán del castigo de Dios? ¡Dios tenga misericordia de sus almas!

Subsista en un estado de escepticismo y desconfianza de las encuestas y sínodos y permanezca centrado en Nuestro Salvador y los Sacramentos.

Some people received a survey emailed by the Archdiocese of San Antonio and some people will be cordially invited to attend The Synod on Synodality.

Is this the business or the busy work of the Church?  Is this merely a mundane and platitudinous public relations marketing and publicity campaign? Are these merely distractions and diversions or do they present a more disingenuous and dangerous detour? The only sure way we will really know is to see the fruits they produce.

Commentary on the survey:

“Has your parish done enough to make you feel safe and more comfortable at Mass?” Since when is it the duty, obligation or responsibility of the parish to make a person feel safe or more comfortable at Mass? Can they really keep a person from getting sick or from getting injured while on the church property? There are health and safety hazards all around us, everywhere we go. Life is full of risks and living is a risk-taking adventure.

Some questions appear to be alluring, bribing, cajoling and enticing us to attend Mass, like providing: food after Mass, activities and socials to create connections and fellowship, relevant homilies, bible studies, childcare, classes to explain the Mass and the pastor knowing us and our family personally.

Many questions revolve around COVID, giving it too much credence. The Church apparently goes along with the worldwide narrative that COVID changed the world, when the Church’s narrative should only be that CHRIST changed the world and through conversion can change us.

The Church should be a super-spreader of faith and not a super-spreader of fear like those who do not believe. Of course, as in all things we must be cautious and careful, but not to the point of being cowering and cringing cowards frightened of death and disease. For the most part, having some kind of diagnosed disease seems to be a part of modern-day life and death for everyone is an inevitable reality.

There are questions asking about one’s level of education, ethnicity, income level, social media use and involvement, and language use; however, only English and Spanish are mentioned.

Thank God the survey only allowed for two (2) responses for gender: MALE or FEMALE.

“Has weekly Mass been an integral part of being a Catholic to you?” Can a person be a Catholic and not have weekly Mass be an integral part of their life? Is not one of the Ten Commandments to Keep Holy the Lord’s Day? Is not one of the Precepts of the Church to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation? Is it not a moral sin not to attend Mass without having a good reason? Has not the dispensation from having to attend Mass been removed by the Archbishop?

There are questions about online Catholic streaming services of Mass, Scripture studies, Adoration, Homilies and the Rosary. Live-streaming was presented as a viable alternative when the churches were closed during COVID and now some people have acclimated to this new environment, just like work from home, now its worship from home.

It can be surmised from past results of surveys and synods that they are for the most part superfluous and superficial. Although, the recent Amazon Synod at the Vatican brought with it the worship of the Pachamama idol, the goddess of Mother Earth, and it was immediately followed by the devastating crisis of the worldwide pandemic. Let’s pray this upcoming Synod doesn’t produce further abominations along with their concomitant catastrophic ramifications.

While we are busy completing surveys and merrily journeying along the synodal way, how many wayward souls are being brought to the faith? While the Shepherds are busy studying surveys and conducting synods, how many lost sheep are being sought after throughout all the treacherous terrains that they trek in this life fraught with terror and travail?

Jesus Christ when he began his ministry did not send out surveys or convene synods to get people’s opinions about what His teachings should consist of or which truths were more attractive and acceptable for people to believe and to follow. “Then many of his disciples who were listening said, ‘This saying is hard; who can accept it?’” John 6:60

The Church already has everything it needs or will ever need. We have Sacred Scripture; we do not need or want the world’s secular scriptures. We have Sacred Tradition; we do not need or want the world’s secular traditions. We have the Sacred Magisterium; we do not need or want the world’s secular teaching authorities of the experts and elites to preach their demonic and detrimental rhetoric which will only lead us to damnation.   

So why is the Church wasting its time, talent and treasure on surveys and synods? The Church has God’s Eternal Truths and Teachings for all times and for all ages.

There is not a Church of the past, or a Church of the present, or a Church of the future. There is only One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, ever ancient and ever new. The Church has already received its mandate and marching orders, “Go and make disciples of all nations”. Matthew 28:19

What is most needed in the Church are strong, spirit-filled, sacrificial servant-leaders who will boldly proclaim in words and bravely produce in works like their predecessors did on that day of the first Pentecost. Of course they will be persecuted, that is the cost of being a true disciple of Christ.

We don’t need clergy to accompany us in our sins or dialogue with us about the sinful life we are living.

We need priests and bishops who will challenge us to conversion, away from our sinful ways and to get back on the path to a joy-filled and glorious life here in this world and life everlasting in the next world. We need priests who love us enough to tell us God’s Truth and convict us of our sins so that repentance and renewal can occur for us to leave behind our vices and strive to lead a virtuous and victorious life.

What would the Apostles think of these men today who are their present day successors?

Saint John the Baptist spoke truth to power and was beheaded. All the Apostles, with the exception of Saint John the Beloved, were martyred.

What are the Bishops saying to so-called Catholic politicians whose words and actions are contrary to the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church? Their buzzwords are accompaniment and dialogue. What do these words even mean?

What would the Apostles say and do with the so-called Catholic politicians of our time? Their words of wisdom would probably be, “I will not be an accessory to your dishonest discourse. I do not condone, but rather, I condemn your diabolical deeds. Return when you have repented and you will have redemption.”

We live in a time when Truth has been twisted and turned topsy-turvy. Untwist the Truth and turn it right-side up.

We live with the backdrop where Beauty has been broken and beaten and is made to bow down by means of betrayal and brutality. Bring back the splendor of Beauty by breaking free from the bondages to fashionable trends. Heal the battered and beaten-up who have succumbed to what they think is “cool” and “hip” and stop betraying us and brutalizing us with what the world says are issues and concerns.

The only “climate change” we really need to care about are the everlasting fires of hell.

We are a generation where Goodness has been gutted of all its guts and glory and grovels and gives-way to godless government edicts, mandates and proclamations. Stand on the side of Goodness with Our Good God who alone is to be glorified and given all honor, praise and thanksgiving.

We all have God-shaped holes in our hearts, minds and souls which only God can fill.

Only God’s Truth can truly fill the God-shaped Truth hole in our mind because it refutes demonic deceptions which will never persuade the ever scrutinizing mind.

Only God’s Goodness can truly fill the God-shaped Goodness hole in our heart because it rejects demonic desecrations which will never placate the ever searching heart.

Only God’s Beauty can truly fill the God-shaped Beauty hole in our soul because it renounces demonic distortions which will never please the ever seeking soul.

What is needed is brave and bold Shepherds who will fight the wolves to protect their flock and nothing else will do. Are they not willing to give themselves totally to Christ and His Church even to the point of shedding their own blood?

They were ordained to be pastors of people’s eternal souls, not puppets whose strings are pulled by politicians. They caved out of fear, when they should have been courageous because of their faith in God.

They appear to be afraid of being arrested and fined, by going against the seemingly all powerful people in prestigious positions. They appear to be afraid to be persecuted, but did not Our Lord say, “If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you.” John 15:20.

They escaped persecution from the government, but will they escape punishment from God? God have mercy on their souls!

Subsist in a state of skepticism and suspiciousness of surveys and synods and stay centered on Our Savior and the Sacraments.
