What Do We Do in Adoration? by Ascension Presents

Image
There are many  things we can do during Eucharistic Adoration , but to make the time most effective there are certain things we  should  do. Fr. Josh puts forth some simple guidelines you can use to help you improve your relationship with God in the Blessed Sacrament. We ought to kneel before the Lord, but if kneeling starts to become painful and distracts us from focusing on God, making us focus on our pain instead, we should sit or lie prostrate. As Fr. Josh says, we want to be comfortable enough to remain focused on the Lord, but not so comfortable that our thoughts start to drift off. Adoration is a liturgical act that can bring our hearts closer to God when done right. Listen to his voice by  reading the Bible . Then share your heart.  Remember the Pirate’s Prayer: ARRR – acknowledge, relate, receive, respond. Acknowledge that you are in the presence of the Lord. Relate with the Lord through your own life. Receive the blessings he is offering to you. Then r...

Movie: “Purgatory” in theaters October 25 & 28 by Fathom Events

Image
People have been wondering what awaits them after death since time immemorial. And although nobody managed to penetrate the secret, there have been many people through the ages that could see more – like Fulla Horak, St. Faustina Kowalska or St. Padre Pio. These mystics – people who have been graced by the visits of souls from the Purgatory – are only some of the protagonists of Michał Kondrat’s film. The new film from the creator of the “Faustina: Love and Mercy” and “Two Crowns”, which have been appreciated both in Poland and abroad, tells the story of souls living in the bodies and of souls that have already left this world.

Synod on Synodality: WHO CARES?!? - Fr. Mark Goring, CC

I Wish it Weren’t So by Gene Chapman

It breaks my heart to say our greatest nation in history is at war, and our adversary lies within.   There is a full-fledged Marxist revolution from our classrooms, our streets, our, southern border, the hallowed halls of Congress, and the presidency.   The dominant media, big tech, have seized control of our elections, and tribalism with globalization is destroying America from within.   We can’t survive with Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, George Soros controlling our elections with money, coupled with fake news!   Our uniquely Blessed Judeo-Christian constitutional republic is at war with our founding, joining the secular, Godless world, being destroyed before our saddened eyes.   Our nation is intentionally overrun with a tsunami of illegal alien voters, wrong policy inflation, making once proud Americans dependent upon government, with millions of jobs unfilled. I, for years read of empty store shelves in all Communist nations, suffering with barest min...

Cardinal Dolan Outlines 7 ‘Non-Negotiables’ for the Synod on Synodality by National Catholic Register

Image
Cardinal Dolan said that “the energy and direction driving the Church comes from the Holy Spirit, not ourselves.” Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York (Joe Bukuras/CNA Nation October 20, 2021 NEW YORK, N.Y. — In an effort to explain Pope Francis’ vision for the Synod on Synodality for his flock, Cardinal Timothy Dolan's homily Sunday offered seven “non-negotiables” that Jesus intended for the Church. The Synod on Synodality, initiated by Pope Francis earlier this month, is a two-year, worldwide undertaking during which Catholics will be encouraged to submit feedback to their local dioceses. A synod is a meeting of bishops gathered to discuss a topic of theological or pastoral significance, in order to prepare a document of advice or counsel to the pope. “[Pope Francis] wants us to join him in praying, listening, discerning, examining ourselves personally, and the Church communally, to see if we’re truly on the path Jesus has set for His beloved bride, His mystical body,...

De encuestas y sínodos: ¡Sálvanos, Señor! por Marian Casillas, Ed.D./From Surveys and Synods: Save us, O Lord! by Marian Casillas, Ed.D.

From Surveys and Synods: Save us, O Lord! by Marian Casillas, Ed.D./ De encuestas y sínodos: ¡Sálvanos, Señor! por Marian Casillas, Ed.D.

Some people received a survey emailed by the Archdiocese of San Antonio and some people will be cordially invited to attend The Synod on Synodality. Is this the business or the busy work of the Church?  Is this merely a mundane and platitudinous public relations marketing and publicity campaign? Are these merely distractions and diversions or do they present a more disingenuous and dangerous detour? The only sure way we will really know is to see the fruits they produce. Commentary on the survey: “Has your parish done enough to make you feel safe and more comfortable at Mass?” Since when is it the duty, obligation or responsibility of the parish to make a person feel safe or more comfortable at Mass? Can they really keep a person from getting sick or from getting injured while on the church property? There are health and safety hazards all around us, everywhere we go. Life is full of risks and living is a risk-taking adventure. Some questions appear to be alluring,...
