COVID can’t cancel Christmas

Letter to North Pole:

Dear Santa,

I’m 8 years old.

Some of the kids in my Zoom class were saying there won’t be Christmas this year because of COVID.

They say Christmas has been cancelled because the Pope cancelled Midnight Mass at the Vatican and the Macy’s Christmas Parade in New York has been cancelled.

I asked Dad if Christmas has been cancelled because of COVID and he said, “Go ask your Mom.”

I asked Mom and she said, “Why don’t you send an email to Santa and ask him?”

So I’m asking you, “Will there be a Christmas this year?”

Please tell me the truth, I can handle it.

I would rather know now so that I won’t be expecting Christmas presents under the tree because you won’t be flying around the world exposing yourself to the virus.

If you won’t be coming, I understand, you have to take care of yourself.

Say Hi! to Mrs. Santa, the elves and the reindeer.

Dear Regina,

YES, there most definitely will be a CHRISTMAS; there will always be a CHRISTMAS, no matter what the world situation might be.

There has been CHRISTMAS during plagues and pestilence, during war and peace, during the worst of times and during the best of times.

It is CHRISTMAS because we celebrate the birth of a NEWBORN BABY named JESUS CHIRST.

He and he alone is the reason for the season.

There would be no CHRISTMAS if JESUS CHRIST had not been born.

We are so happy because JESUS CHRIST was born that our hearts are overflowing with love and we manifest this overwhelming love by: exchanging gifts; decorating with beautiful ornaments; singing joyful songs, eating festive foods, and making merriment throughout the CHRISTMAS season.

Even if there are no gifts, no decorations, no joyful songs, no festive foods or no merriment whatsoever, there will always be CHRSTMAS because CHRIST will always be with us.

Always, Santa Claus
