Letter to the Editor,
Celebrate faith and
freedom
On Independence Day be
inspired and illuminated, not just by the spectacular firework displays, but
more importantly by the sacred words that reflect and urge freedom in our
faith-filled lives.
John 8:31-32. "Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are
really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you
free.’”
Galatians 5:1. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand
firm and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
Ephesians 3:12. "In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God
with freedom and confidence."
Romans 6:22. "But now that you have been set free from sin and
have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the
result is eternal life."
1 Peter 2:12. "Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a
cover-up for evil."
2 Timothy 1:7. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but
gives us freedom, love, and self-discipline."
James 1:25. "But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that
gives freedom, and continues in it, not forgetting what they have heard, but
doing it, they will be blessed in what they do."
Romans 8:1. "Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has
set you free from the law of sin and death.
2 Corinthians 3:17. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.”
John 8:36. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
Psalm 119:45. “I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your
precepts.”
Galatians 5:13-14. “You were called to be free. But do not use your freedom
to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.”

Scripture passages bring joy to your July 4th, living in God’s faith
and His ultimate freedom.
