People flee their oppressive regimes, to be liberated from dictators and tyrants; only to set up their own oppressive regimes where they become the dictators and tyrants. Why was Hollywood making-movies in Georgia and not in California, where all the stars and their orbiting constellation of creative moviemakers congregate? It’s because California has stifling taxes and outrageous regulations that moviemakers wouldn’t be able to make-movies and make a profit. Letter to the Editor, Watchwords When President Trump called the southern border situation a “crisis”, the National Democratic Leadership and their collaborators in the leftist-controlled mainstream-media conglomerates decried his assessment as false and foolish. Now, when it suits their purpose, leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election, to portray the President as responsible for the situation at the southern border, they all jump-on-the-bandwagon, finally admitting that there’s a “crisis”. It was a “crisis” then, and it is still a “crisis” now. The “cages” that children are kept in, to protect them by keeping them separate from adults who might abuse them, are the same ones funded in fiscal year 2015 and built under the Obama administration. Letter to the Editor, “Concentration camps” The real “concentration camps” are not the facilities on our southern border as the National Democratic Leadership asserts; rather they are the facilities throughout the United States, in mostly minority neighborhoods, where babies are being savagely slaughtered. Some people might disagree that abortion facilities are nothing like “concentration camps” because abortion is legal. Did the citizens of the United States vote on this issue? Did our elected representatives legislate on this subject? The so-called “right to abortion” is not found in the text of the U.S. Constitution or in the Bill of Rights. Our Lady of Guadalupe Church - Del Rio This year the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, under the Spiritual Direction of Father Martin Alonso Bustos González, M.N.M. (Missionaries of the Nativity of Mary), was filled with joy and gratitude to have sponsored the May Crowning Ceremony of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The ceremony was held on May 25 during the Saturday evening Mass. Pastor and Mass celebrant Father Martin presided at the May Crowning Celebration held after the homily. The Legion of Mary has been in existence at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church since 1947.
