Letter to the Editor, Devices are for Dummies Sometime in the near future, there will be an “Electronic Device-free” campaign. Will this campaign be any more successful than its predecessors: “anti-smoking”, “buckle-up”, “don’t drink and drive” and “litter-free”? Probably not. None of these campaigns were successful until they were enforced by the law and offenders were slapped with steep fines and penalties. The physical and psychological effects of electronic devices have been studied worldwide and the consensus among the scientific community is that electronic devices are harmful to our health and wellbeing.  We will be inundated with a slew of public service announcements averting us to the dangers of electronic devices and these might be some of the campaigns that we will be presented with: “Don’t be a Dummy, like Dave the Dummy” This spot will present Dave who is a robot, with the implication that we too will turn into a robotic machine walk...

Letter to the Editor, Stop the insanity The death penalty for convicted criminals is being outlawed while abortion rights are being expanded and innocent babies are being executed. Where is the justice in that? The Democratic Governor of California Gavin Newsom signed an executive order placing an indefinite moratorium on capital punishment, saying it goes against Californians’ values, yet in 2012 and 2016 there were unsuccessful voter efforts to end the death penalty. California joins 18 states that have banned executing those who were deemed by judge and jury of their peers to merit a death sentence.  Yet state after state is expanding abortion rights to include non-doctors who can perform abortions, denying protection and medical care for babies who survive abortion, repealing all abortion facility regulations and forcing all hospitals and health care professionals to perform abortions with no exception for religious or conscience objections, ...

Letter to the Editor, Revolting revolutions It’s not that history repeats itself; it’s that people ignorant of history are bound to repeat the same mistakes. Each generation grapples with their own set of problems hoping to find solutions, each generation stumbles upon what they think will solve their problems, magically transporting them to paradise. Except that what seemed like paradise in their dreams, always turns into prisons in reality.  Drug addicts don’t set out to have a drug addiction; the drugs were taken for pleasurable enhancement but soon turned into punishing enchainment. The French-Enlightenment Revolution effectively enthroned the “enlightened”, dethroned the Divine and the divinely ordained precepts of God.
