She was born on May 4, 1939 in Del Rio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Jose Moncivais, Sr. and Tomasa Sotelo; brothers Tomas Moncivais and Abram Moncivais. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years David G. Vela; son David Vela, Jr. and wife Antonia; daughter Dalinda A. Calvetti and husband Ruben; brothers Jose S. Moncivais, Jr. and wife Matilde, Arturo Moncivais and wife Berta; sisters-in-law Carolyn Moncivais and Carmen Moncivais; grandchildren Anthony Lee Calvetti, Christopher M. Vela, and Joseph M. Letter to the Editor, Isn’t it ironic? Democrat Senator Kamala Harris and presidential candidate from California, the state which has the largest number fleeing and coming to Texas; don’t they realize its leftist-leaning ideologies that created the reasons they are moving to Texas which fosters a strong and steady working and family-friendly environment. Isn’t it ironic? Senator Harris condemned the policy of separating children from their parents who are apprehended illegally crossing the border saying, “The trauma these children experience will live on for decades to come. Ripping babies away from their parents to put them in cages is inhumane.” She was dramatically speaking about “ripping babies” away from their parents. Yet, abortion, which she proudly champions, is literally and inhumanely “ripping babies” inside their mother’s womb, putting them in jars to sell their body parts.  Isn’t it ironic?
