Typing real-truth news
Rider Escritora was shopping at what
some called an antique store, but she referred to as a vintage shop. The store
was filled from top to bottom with a dazzling display of what some called junk,
but she referred to as hidden treasures. She loved to find enchanting items that
brought a twinkle to her eye and a delightful smile to her face.
There it was sitting on top of a dusty
wooden table, a manual typewriter. She knew she must have it. But did it work,
she wondered?
Conveniently placed beside the typewriter was a wooden box with
white sheets of paper. She took a sheet, rolled it into the cartridge and typed
with two fingers, “I wonder how much this typewriter costs?” and before she
could continue, this appeared on the sheet of paper, “$300”. Perplexed, she
ventured to type another question, “What is my name?” and the answer appeared
“Rider Escritora”.
How could this be? She looked around; the store was empty
except for the owner up front. Was this some prank being played on her by her
friends? Was there a hidden camera recording her?
I’ll type a question only I
know the answer to, so she racked her brain to find a suitable question. “How
much money do I have in my purse?” The answer appeared, “No money.” Wrong, she
thought, as she opened her purse and took out her wallet. Oh, that’s right, she
remembered, I picked up the purse with only the credit card, the other purse
had some money. But how could it know?
She told the owner she wanted to buy the
old typewriter. The owner told her it was worth much more, but he would let her
have it for only $300. She already knew how much he was going to ask for it,
she just smiled and gave him her credit card.
She couldn’t wait to find out who the President
would name as a nominee to the Supreme Court.
