May 31: Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed
Virgin Mary and May Crowning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Del Rio
On May 31, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Del Rio
celebrated the Feast of The Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary along with
the May Crowning Ceremony.
Father Martin Alonso Bustos González, Missionary of
the Nativity of Mary (M.N.M.) Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church celebrated
Mass and prayed the Rosary.
The choir “Coro Eucaristica” under the direction of
Juan Antonio and Magdalena Fernandez provided musical accompaniment for the
celebration of the Eucharistic Liturgy.
After Mass, Father Martin and the Legion of Mary,
Praesidium Maria Inmaculada members, prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the
Rosary.
Each decade of the Rosary consisted of reading a
meditation on the Mystery followed by the Rosary prayers and a Marian song.
The Rosary meditations, prayers and songs were conveyed
with pictorial representations of the Glorious Mysteries on a large screen.
Alina Randez, daughter of Daniel and Selina Randez,
parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, crowned the Blessed Virgin Mary
wearing her First Holy Communion dress. She
is a Third grade student.
On May 5, Father Carlos Oscar Velázquez Lázaro,
Missionary of the Nativity of Mary (M.N.M.) Vicar of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Church celebrated the First Communion Mass in which Alina along with 72 other
CCD students made their First Holy Communion.
After the May Crowning Ceremony the Legion of Mary
members distributed a Miraculous Medal to all those in attendance.
