Letter to the Editor
Yes, Regina, there is a
CHRIST
(Adaptation of “Yes,
Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”)
Dear Editor,
I’m 8 years old.
Some of my friends say
there’s no CHRIST whose birth we celebrate on Christmas Day.
My Daddy says, “If you see it
in the Riverville Herald-News it’s so.”
Please tell me the truth; is
there a CHRIST?
Regina Regalos

Dear Regina,
Your friends are wrong! They’ve
been affected by the secularism of a secularist age. They don’t believe in the
historical reality that CHRIST was born in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago.
Yes, Regina, there’s a CHRIST!
HE existed and HE exists today because there’s another day we celebrate, Easter,
when CHRIST who came to free us from sin and death, miraculously rose from the
dead and ascended into heaven where HE reigns until HIS second coming and our
the final judgment day, when we will be with HIM or not with HIM, for all
eternity.
Sadly! How dreary would be
the world if there were no CHRIST. It would be as dreary as if there were no
Regina’s. There would be no faith then, to believe in HIS existence. We should
have no fulfillment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light which fills the
world would be extinguished.
Nobody sees CHRIST, but that’s
no sign that there’s no CHRIST. The most real things in the world are those
that no one can see. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are
unseen and unseeable in the world.
There’s a veil covering the
unseen world which not the strongest person, nor even the united strength of
all the strongest people that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith can push
aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond.
Is CHRIST real? Yes, CHRIST lives, and HE lives forever! A thousand years from
now, no, ten times ten thousand years from now, CHRIST will continue to bring
joy to the hearts of all who believe in HIM.
Merry Christmas!
Marian Casillas, Ed.D.
