Ministry Training Workshop The Legion of Mary of the Del Rio Catholic Community sponsored the Ministry Training Workshop: Nursing Home Visitation on October 10, 2015 from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish Hall. The Ministry Training Workshop was open to all who visit nursing homes and were invited to be trained by experts in the medical profession specifically on the do’s and don’ts of nursing home visitation. Father Antonio O. Moreno, Spiritual Director of the Legion of Mary, gave the welcoming address and led all those gathered in an opening prayer. Father Moreno informed the attendees on how to prepare to respond to Pope Francis’ call to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy by living the works of mercy which include visiting and comforting the sick. The Jubilee Year of Mercy commences on December 8, 2015 and culminates on November 20, 2016. Irma Montemayor, M.D. led those in attendance in a prayer in Spanish. Carme

Letter to the Editor, Del Rio Life Chain Mom informs the family sitting down to eat dinner at the kitchen table that she received an email about the upcoming Del Rio Life Chain 2015 that is held annually sponsored by the Amistad Pregnancy Care Center. Mom notifies the family that this year the Del Rio Life Chain 2015 will be held on October 25 th from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the front area of the Civic Center facing Veteran’s Boulevard. Mom is pleased that Del Rio is participating in this national event that is a peaceful, prayerful and pro-life witness in our community. Dad says the family will be in attendance to support the cause of life. He lays out the agenda: “We’ll attend the late morning Sunday Mass, and then go out to La Vaquita Restaurant to have lunch, by then it’ll be time to go to the Pro-Life Rosary lead by The Legion of Mary of the Del Rio Catholic Community at 2:30 p.m. and then the Life Chain from 3:00 to 4:00 p.
