March 24, 2015: Catholic Faith in Action Advocacy Day in Austin, Texas

Catholic Faith in Action
Advocacy Day - Tuesday - March 24, 2015

The Bishops and rally participants will come together to stand in solidarity as we address diverse issues related to Catholic Social Teaching. Participating in civic advocacy is an urgent task for the Catholic faithful in our archdiocese. Perhaps, now more than ever, we must unite as Missionary Disciples and bring our message to the public square, and especially to our state legislators. By our very baptism, we have been called to hunger and thirst for justice and to be peacemakers in our communities. These actions affirm the dignity of each person as made in God’s image with rights to be respected and responsibilities to fulfill. Archbishop Gustavo wants to encourage all faithful catholic citizens from around the Archdiocese of San Antonio to participate in Advocacy Day to help bring awareness, prayer for laws and policies that defend our religious liberty and which pursues true social justice founded upon respect for life and the common good.
This year Archbishop Gustavo would like to make an important statement with faithful citizens from the San Antonio Archdiocese attending the rally on the south lawn of the Texas State Capitol.
