Media Missionaries: Stand up for religious liberty!

Del Rio Stand Up Rally
Friday, June 8 at 12 noon
Greenwood Park

Dear EWTN Media Missionary,

In response to the U.S. Government's mandate that employers cover abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and other services that Catholics and other people of faith find morally objectionable, the U.S. bishops have called for a "Fortnight for Freedom." The two-week event, from June 21 to July 4, will encourage prayer, education and public action in support of religious freedom. Look to EWTN for coverage of many "Fortnight" events, from the Opening Mass from Baltimore to the Closing Mass from Washington, D.C.!

Media Missionaries, we need your help to build awareness and encourage attendance at the various local events planned in dioceses throughout the country! Highlights include:

1.    June 8- Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom.   To date, 135 cities in 46 states will hold religious freedom rallies at noon.

2.    June 21 - Opening "Fortnight" Mass   Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori will celebrate a special Mass at 6 p.m. CT, June 21,at Baltimore's Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption on the vigil of the Feast of Saints John Fisher and Thomas More.

 3.    July 4 - Closing "Fortnight" Mass

Cardinal Donald Wuerl (Celebrant) and Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput (Homilist) will close the two-week event with a special Mass at 11:00 p.m. CT, July 4, from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Wash., D.C.

You can help raise awareness of these important events by e-mailing
photos or short digital videos of your rallies or "Fortnight of Freedom" events for EWTN to post online. We also encourage you to spread the word through social media to friends and family or by placing the following announcement in your parish bulletin.
