Pilgrimage Honors Our Lady of Guadalupe

Monday, December 13, 2010

Making the traditional annual march to honor "Our Lady of Guadalupe" were these parishioners who walked from the Guadalupe Center, 600 E. Adobe St., turning right on East Garza and then on West Garza to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 500 W. Garza St., where special ceremonies were held to honor her on her day.

December 12 is the day her image is supposed to have appeared on the cloak of a peasant, Juan Diego, before whom she had appeared three days before.

Many Mexican singers/artists have penned songs in her name or have sang these songs in her name at various churches in Mexico and the U.S.
