Let’s be blunt, Don’t Flaunt!
Personal reflection: At the bottom of the poster above it reads, “Costume contest for kids 14 and under, flaunt your best costume, and win the prize.” According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition, Flaunt means “ To exhibit ostentatiously or shamelessly. To ignore or disregard (a rule, for example) openly or scornfully. To show oneself off or move in an ostentatious way.” That’s precisely why there’s caseloads of people who are committing grave offenses, including prostitution, who require supervision to be among people in society The culture and the church are unfortunately sending and spreading the same perverse messages. The day dedicated to honoring the virtues of the saints has been hijacked into honoring the vices of the sinners. At the bottom of another poster below it reads, “Praying for reparation for all evil on this night.” Let's truly be Catholics and not just Cultural Catholics!
