August 30, 2020: The bureaucrat vs. the builder * Letter to the Editor * OPINION * Del Rio News-Herald

Letter to the Editor, The Bureaucrat vs. The Builder The choice in the 2020 Presidential Election is between a life-long politician who has made his living off the American taxpayer and off foreign governments who have sought monetary aid from the federal government coffers in exchange for favors granted; or a billionaire who personally funded his own political campaign, is not beholden to anyone, and gives his salary as president to charitable organizations; a former entrepreneur extraordinaire who as president has built up America and placed America first over the vicious globalists and has set Americans free from the stranglehold of bureaucratic regulations. Biden is a yes-man towing the party-line and a politician playing the game of politics to win elected office; whereas Trump is his own man, definitely not your typical politician, kowtowing to no party and instead remaking the political party to serve the people, destroying and dismantling the do-nothing governmental establishme

‘Ave Maria’ caps Republican National Convention: ‘Most Catholic moment in American history’ 'The stakes could not be clearer in this election.' Fri Aug 28, 2020   WASHINGTON, D.C., August 28, 2020 ( LifeSiteNews ) – The Republican National Convention concluded with what one commentator has called “the most Catholic moment in American history”: the performance of “Ave Maria” – the “Hail Mary” prayer, put to music.  Opera singer  Christopher Macchio  offered a beautiful rendition of the song, cherished by Catholics, from the Blue Room balcony of the White House after President Donald Trump’s speech officially accepting his party’s nomination to run for reelection.   After the sung prayer to Our Lady, Macchio invited the Trump family and guests gathered on the south lawn of the White House to join in singing “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful.” “God will honor those who honor Him (and those who honor the Mother of God the Son),” proclaimed Dr. Taylor Marsha

The Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the 2020 Republican National Convention: Honoring BVM at RNC

The Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the 2020 Republican National Convention Sister Deirdre “Dede” Byrne, from the order of religious sisters of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, has worn three uniforms: a surgeon’s scrubs, a soldier’s camouflage, and now, a sister’s habit. Before becoming a religious sister, she served for 29 years as a medical doctor and surgeon. She is also a retired colonel of the U.S. Army, where she served seven years as a full-time officer. "I must confess," Byrne started out, "that I recently prayed while in chapel, begging God to allow me to be a voice, an instrument for human life. And now here I am, speaking at the Republican National Convention. I guess you'd better be careful what you pray for." Speaking of the infancy narratives in the Gospel of Luke, the realities found in the second and third joyful mysteries of the Rosary, Byrne shared with her national audience important insights about the p

Military Doctor Turned Nun Unloads On Biden-Harris: ‘Most Anti-Life Presidential Ticket Ever’ Aug 26, 2020   DailyWire.com Sister Dede Byrne of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary slammed the Democratic presidential ticket during night three of the Republican National Convention, saying that they are the most anti-life ticket in American history. “In 1978, as a medical school student at Georgetown University, I joined the Army to help pay for my tuition and ended up devoting 29 years to the military, serving as a doctor and a surgeon in places like Afghanistan and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula,” she began. “After much prayer and contemplation, I entered my religious order in 2002, working to serve the poor and the sick in Kenya, Haiti, Sudan, Iraq, and in Washington, D.C.”  “As a physician, I can say, without hesitation, life begins at conception,” she said. “While what I have to say may be difficult for some to hear, I am saying it because I’m not just pro-life, I’m

Legendary Coach Lou Holtz: Biden Is ‘Catholic In Name Only’   Aug 26, 2020   DailyWire.com   Prolific college football coach Lou Holtz delivered a blistering takedown of Democratic nominee Joe Biden during a speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night. Holtz called Biden, who has been touted by the media as a practicing Catholic, a “Catholic in name only” because of the former vice president’s support for pro-abortion policies. Holtz also delivered an uplifting message of “living out the American story” by accepting personal responsibility and making good choices, such as getting an education and working hard.  “There are people today, like politicians, professors, protesters, and, of course, President Trump’s naysayers in the media who like to blame others for problems. They don’t have pride in our country, and because they no longer ask ‘What can I do for my country?’—only what the country should be doing for them—they don’t have pride in themselves.

Nick Sandmann at RNC: Americans must ‘unite around’ Trump who calls the media out Sandmann, donning his red Make America Great Again hat while speaking at the Republican National Convention, said that the 'country must unite around a president that calls the media out, and refuses to let them create a narrative instead of reporting the facts' Tue Aug 25, 2020 WASHINGTON, D.C., August 25, 2020 ( LifeSiteNews ) – Pro-life teenager Nick Sandmann offered a firsthand account of the recklessness of the mainstream media Tuesday evening at the Republican National Convention, casting the 2020 presidential election as a decision to rally around a president who stands up to press misconduct. Sandmann was a student at Kentucky’s Covington Catholic High School who attended the 2019 March for Life in Washington DC, and found himself at the heart of a national firestorm when the press erupted with claims that a video showed him and his classmates harassing Native American activist Na

JOHN-HENRY WESTEN From the desk of the editor.    ‘No Catholic can vote for Joe Biden’: Pro-life priests explain 'Not only can Catholics not vote for Biden in good conscience, but they can’t vote for Democrats, period.' Wed Aug 19, 2020   ·            August 18, 2020 ( LifeSiteNews ) — Top pro-life priests in the United States have said that no Catholic can vote for Joe Biden.  Yet, in campaign videos, Joe Biden is touting his Catholicism over and over again. Last week, a U.S. bishop tweeted that Biden is not a Catholic, but homosexuality-promoting priest Fr. James Martin defended him, insisting that he is a Catholic. No surprise there. But seriously, with all the gaffes, sex abuse scandal, and lies surrounding Joe Biden, how can it be that he was selected to be the Democratic candidate for this all-important election? Joe Biden? Really? Is that the best candidate the Democrats could come up with for this election, which from both sides is being regarded as t
