April 28, 2020: Feast of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort

St. Louis Marie de Montfort (1673-1716), in his spiritual classic, True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, speaks more powerfully than ever to our present generation:   “...Almighty God and His Holy Mother are to raise up great saints who will surpass in holiness most other saints as much as the cedars of Lebanon tower above little shrubs… the power of Mary over all the devils will especially break out in the latter times, when Satan will lay his snares against her heel; that is to say, her humble slaves and her poor children, whom she will raise up to make war against him. … The formation and the education of the great saints who will come at the end of the world are reserved to her, for only this singular and wondrous Virgin can produce in union with the Holy Spirit singular and wondrous things.”         We who are consecrated to Jesus through Mary, and who are seeking to live our consecration daily, are the Blessed Virgin Mary's humble slaves and her poor ch

The Deeper Crisis: The Wall of Jerusalem is Broken Down by Camilia Murphy * Little Handmaids of Our Sorrowful Mother

Dear sisters, The Holy Spirit continues to move me to write what he gives me to write. I have been reading and pondering the book of Nehemiah, a Scripture for our time. Please read this meditation, not in order to give praise to me, but in order to receive the spiritual food that the Lord and the Blessed Mother desire to give you. I pray for you and your loved ones. Cami little handmaid The Deeper Crisis: "The Wall of Jerusalem  is Broken Down!"        Yes, I know that the attention of the whole world is now on the Covid-19 pandemic, and for good reason. It is, perhaps the fastest spreading virus since the 1918 Spanish flu. In comparison with other virus epidemics, it has one of the highest death rates. Hospitals in countries around the world are being overwhelmed by the number of Covid-19 patients in need of intensive care. The quarantines and lock-downs needed to try to contain the virus is severely threatening economies.

Letter to the Editor, Life from womb to tomb Jesus showed us what life means in the womb. “You will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.” (Luke 1:31)  Jesus showed us what life means as a baby. “They found Mary and Joseph and the infant lying in the manger.”(Luke 2:16)             Jesus showed us what life means as a child.  “The child grew, and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.” (Luke 2:40)         Jesus showed us what life means as an adolescent. “When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.” (Luke 2:42)             Jesus showed us what life means as an adult. “Jesus was about 30 years old when he began his ministry.” (Luke 3:23)             Jesus showed us what life means in a family. “Every year his father and mother went to Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover.” (Luke 2:41)            Jesus showed

Letter to the Editor, A perspective during a pandemic It’s interesting to note how life can dramatically change from one instance to the next when a life threatening virus hits the world.  Everything’s come to a grinding halt.  One minute everything was life as usual and the next minute everything is life lived in an unusual way.  We all take so very much for granted.  And only when we are confronted with our own immortality do we stop and take the time to put life in its proper perspective.  What truly matters and what is merely superfluous becomes a stark reality.  There are no longer any large group gatherings, everyone is told to stay home; students no longer go to a school building to learn; now they are being taught online.  The cost of gasoline is at an all time low, but unfortunately there is nowhere to go with the ominous virus lurking everywhere we go.  There are no longer any “safe spaces” to protect us from other

Missionaries of the Holy Spirit - Christ the Priest Province What if everyone on Sunday April 5 in the morning, puts a branch on the door of their house or on the window, to celebrate Palm Sunday? It could be any green branch you can get. This would help, despite the social distancing, to be connected as we enter into the Holiest of Weeks. Want to join? We may be physically isolated, but not separated. We are united as the members of the body of Christ. We are the Church. ¿Quieres unirte? Podemos estar físicamente aislados, pero no separado
