Reflection of Father Moreno's Homily: June 12, 2011

Today is the Day of Pentecost.

Pray to invoke the Holy Spirit.

Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

In Genesis Chapter 11, humanity was arrogant, wanted full decision making with God so they built a tower, but God put a stop to the tower.

God restores through the power of the Holy Spirit the peace and unity that was destroyed in the Tower of Babel. The Tower of Babel brought confusion and different languages; Pentecost restored us by Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

With the Holy Spirit within us may we claim the gifts and open our heart to the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost is the birth of the Church. Today we claim to be children of God to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit

In the Name of Jesus we all have gifts to give

We are challenged by the Holy Spirit.

We have to ask ourselves. What gifts do we have?

It is joy, compassion, forgiveness. Are we called to music, priesthood, deaconate, mother, father, single and chaste?

Peace be with you, not the peace of the world which is false happiness because no one and nothing can give us happiness and peace.

Jesus heals our woundedness and brokenness. We can love, serve, be at peace and happy.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to heal us and anoint us.
