Did you know October is National Respect Life Month?

 

Forty-one years ago – two years before abortion became legal in the U.S. – Respect Life Month became an annual tradition. Respect Life Month launches annually on the first Sunday of October – Oct. 7 this year. Read the 2012 Statement for Respect Life Month by the USCCB. During this month, “our nation's Catholics will be called to renew their personal commitment to defend all human life, especially the most vulnerable members of the human family. They will demonstrate this commitment in a variety of ways—by participating in prayer services and educational conferences, engaging in public witness and advocacy, and helping to offer church and community services to those in need.” There are many ways to celebrate this month and help in the pro-life cause. Here are some suggestions: Get involved with 40 Days for Life; Buy the October Baby DVD and watch it with your family and friends; Read October Baby: A Novel; Watch and share the Every Life is Beautiful videos with your social networks during this month; Join a Life Chain!
