Obituary for Legion of Mary Member Consuelo "Connie" Paredes

Consuelo “Connie” Paredes, 88, entered eternal rest on January 9, 2017 in Del Rio, Texas.

She was born December 10, 1928 in Del Rio, Texas.

She is survived by her sister in-law: Rosa Olga Paredes of Del Rio, Texas; brother: Roberto T. Martinez Sr. of Jourdanton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Manuel C. and Concepcion T. Martinez; husband: Reynaldo P. Paredes of 51 years marriage; sisters: Odilia and Ana Maria Martinez and brother: Dr Manuel A. Martinez Jr., and Richard T. Martinez.

Connie began working at Edwards Graham Insurance in 1948, where she remained for 23 years.

Upon leaving she became office manager for her brother Dr. Manuel Martinez until her retirement 20 years later.

Connie was a member of the Pan American Roundtable, as director/treasure, played guitar with the Comadres group, and was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Pallbearers are Joe Frank Martinez, Waylan Lee Martinez, Waylan Lee Martinez, Jr., Adrian Martinez, Alfred Lozano and Raul Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Musquiz, Roberto Martinez, Jr., Manuel Martinez III, Alfredo Paredes, Ernesto Paredes II and Roberto Mario Paredes.

Visitations will be on Friday, 5-9:00P.M, January 13, 2017 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home with rosary at 7:00P.M.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, 10:00A.M, January, 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed with interment at San Felipe Cemetery.
